If you want a quality drink and to be surrounded by fun, funky art...this is THE place. Met the owner, who was very welcoming and warm, and he moved us from the fireplace to the Elvis table. Yes, you can dress up in Elvis costumes and wear sunglasses and put on your best impersonation of the King. Our group played giant Uno and as I looked around I saw others playing connect four, etc. An excellent time was had by all. All the drinks are named after different folks who must spend a lot of time there. I recommend the "Brian Cauble". I'll definitely go back. The menu is split into alcohol categories like whiskey, tequila, vodka, rum, gin. Even the restrooms are fun. I can't stress enough how much there is to look at while here. The creativity behind this bar is fantastic. Our server was so friendly and showed up every time, right on time. I wish I had gotten her name bc she is great at what she does with impeccable timing. Will definitely return and bring more people to check this place out. If your only in town for a few days, this is one of the places you should try to make it to. I only got pics of the ladies restroom, but there are ponytail holders and pregnancy tests in there. I hear the men's restroom had the same but a medicine cabinet with fake pills. Love this place....
Read moreMy husband and I went and there was a line waiting to get in. As we patiently waited, we ended up chatting with the party in front of us. They were seated and had room for 2 more next to them on their couch. They asked us to join. We asked the hostess if we could sit there since we could fit on the couch with them (it was not a seperate seating area). She said she would have to ask the manager because she "didn't want to get yelled at". He approached and promptly stated no. When I asked why we couldnt sit with them that they had asked us he was very rude and said "this is how I run my business". Eventually we were sat in a table area for 4 people; so instead of just letting us sit with the other group who had extra space, he made us wait and sat the 2 of us in a spot for 4 people; not good business sense. We enjoyed the atmosphere and our waitress was very nice but the wine was awful and owner was incredibly rude and aggressive. It's also clear his staff is afraid of him. We shortly left. As it turned out, at the bar down the street, there were other people who left because the owner was so rude to them. It's not worth supporting it...
Read moreI took my sister here last night after we left an event we had gone to earlier that night. I loved Atomic when it was around, and I had one of my best dates there. So when I originally came to House of Found Objects (HoFO), I kept comparing it to that date and it didn’t quite live up. It was still such a cool environment that I knew my sister would love it. A different experience and expectation was exaclty what I needed to get a fresh read on the bar. We. Had. A. BLAST! We sat in the lower level, red-room and played a game while we waited for our drinks. Our server was Cat and she was so nice, helpful, and upbeat. The music choices were top notch and the drinks were delicious and adorable! The bubble machines overhead came on twice while we were there, which was so unexpected and fun. We made sure to hop in the photo booth/video booth before we left for a chance at being on the big screen. I can’t wait to go back and show other friends this amazing spot. Thanks for a good time HoFO! You make Birmingham...
