Too many reasons to list for the poor review but I’ll give a summary.
1.) the price is the same as it is for some of the premium locations in town. This wouldn’t be a problem except it ISN’T a premium gym - the equipment is the same stuff that was here when I moved here in 2009 and it was old then. And being as it’s run by parks and rec we already pay for the place at least in part with our taxes.
2.) the hours of operation for a gym (specifically the mornings) don’t lend themselves to working people - and the lady that often works the front desk can’t even get off the computer and unlock the doors on time for even the later opening - the facility isn’t even fully open then, with half the lights being off and the computer not being ready to accept customers.
3.) the hot tubs are always broken, shut down or disgusting (they allow people in adult diapers in them and then wonder why the city comes and shuts them down for bacteria). My wife observed the same pile of dead bugs next to the women’s hot tub for over a month.
4.) the cleanliness of the facility in general.
5.) the ability of most of the employees to perform basic functions (like renting out a locker) isn’t there - it’s always, “come back when someone who knows how to do that is here”.
Honestly needs new management and for someone at parks and rec director level to really look long and hard at this facility and ask themselves - am I providing value and standards that are proportionate to what we are asking our patrons to pay? Maybe take tour of other gyms and compare what your prices are and what level of service and building you are providing compared to them.
The good: I think his name is Liam (kid with the curly hair) - his attitude is great, and Darold seems very invested in wanting the place to be better.

Read moreI have been searching and searching everywhere for a nice home feel gym. Might just get myself a membership here. Staff has always treated me kindly. There is a selection of Free weights, stair climber, eliptical, treadmill, bench press, smith machines, and a nice squat rack. Has everything I need plus a speed bag. I hope to see a heavy bag soon. It’s all well maintained, friendly people who show up just to work out, don’t see half naked men and women just sitting on the machines taking selfies and videos of themselves. People work out and mind their own and thats what I appreciate and like about a gym. Then the ladies locker room has a built in sauna and a hot tub. Very clean...
Read moreSo happy I found this place! We've been traveling full time for 9 months and this is the first time I've found a gym that let's in non members/nonresidents. For $6 my daughter and I were able to get in a great workout. Nice variety of equipment, clean and beautiful facilities, cold water from the drinking fountains and even a hot tub and sauna in the locker rooms! My one complaint is the childcare is closed in the summer. What's...
