This place is so fantastic that I wish I could leave more stars. To begin with they only carry the best products. Honestly, my wife and I were amazed at the quality of items they have. We were in the market for a massage chair and researched for months. Early on we knew we wanted something that would last for years and was backed up with an incredible warranty. The problem with looking at high end products, is that they are very difficult to find and compare in real life. Most of them are simply from large resellers online forcing you to hope you like what you get before trying it out. Relax The Back not only had both the chairs I was looking for, but they were also on the showroom floor ready to be used.
Entering the store for the first time was impressive. The store has nice areas for different products and all of them are there for you to use and explore. They want you to put any of their items through the test. We were met by the store manager Ken. I cannot say enough about him. There is absolutely no pressure. I want to say he spent at least an hour with us going over all the options and different chairs. In the end, we purchased the OCHO M.8 and Ken took care of everything from there.
While we were waiting for delivery, Ken made the genuine offer for us come in every day if we wanted to use the showroom chair until ours came. Since the purchase we have been in contact and he has helped us out with any questions we have had. Buying local with this type of support is the only way to go.
Finally, the store has a very unique line of credit if you are needing one. If you make a big purchase and would like to finance it, you can open a line of credit with them. Ours was 18 months same as cash, but I'm sure that varies over time. Once you open this line, it can stay open for the original amount once the balance is paid off. This is nice for large purchases because you don't have to reapply and do a credit check. If you are in the market for multiple pieces of furniture this could be a nice option.
Give them a look and you will be...
Read moreMy advice, avoid this location. I will never purchase from the Bloomfield store after two negative occurrences. Even though it's just down the street from me, I will drive to Shelby Twp (which actually has a friendly, outgoing team). I've gone into the Bloomfield store twice - with a 2-1/2 year gap between visits. After that first time I swore I'd never return, as the man I worked with was dismissive and rude. But now, needing to find a specific chair for my Mom (who has dementia), I thought I'd try again... for 'her sake.' But, unbelievably, it happened again, and within seconds of opening his mouth - rude. I assume it's the owner. I asked for a specific Palliser recliner, based on her size and the chair's dimensions. He scoffed, 'we only carry the high end Palliser.' The chair I was asking about is a $4,000+ chair. Seriously? One bad experience could be explained by a 'bad day,' but two? And I see other reviewers experiencing this same 'dismissive' attitude. Go to Shelby. Chris is super helpful, and the owner, Peter, went above and...
Read moreI recently had an issue with a LifeForm chair that I had purchased from the Relax the Back store in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Ken, the store manager went above and beyond to make sure that everything was taken care of every step of the way. They contacted LifeForm on my behalf and arranged to have to a new part sent to me. Once the replacement part was delivered, Ken contacted me again to confirm its delivery and to double check to make sure that everything was taken care of correctly.
Despite the fact that I no longer lived in Michigan and was no longer a customer in their immediate vicinity, Ken and his team treated me as if I was a long-time customer. In this day and age when online vendors can easily come and go, it is very encouraging to find a store staffed and run by knowledgeable people who are more than willing to stand by the products they sell and to accommodate the needs of their customers.
I strongly recommend this store to anyone who suffers...
