Cindy Levine is a fabulous instructor. The staff at the studio is consistently friendly and genuine, even to those like me who are yoga gypsies. The studio is clean and airy. I like the fact that it's not a boot camp mentality and we are all encouraged to honor our bodies as some days they don't always wish to cooperate ; )
That being said, I wish I could have invited some of my yoga loving friends to this morning's 8:30 Blend class. (Even though I am fully cognizant that my yoga loving friends are already in attendance ... we're just not connected outside of this space, lol) I loved today's message (essentially, Miracles are EVERYWHERE and we all basically blessed beyond belief to have a chance at life because the odds of us being born are so astronomically low). I wish I could replicate today's entire practice because for me it was a beautiful blend of muscle memory, discipline, firmness yet suppleness. Of course, the playlist was icing on the cake. Most of all, I wish I could have articulated this to Cindy after class when all I could manage to do was approach her with all these thoughts I wanted to get out yet could only mange to stammer out one word. "Great." (So, needless to say, I'm really glad to have gotten a follow-up email in my Inbox to share my thoughts and to post this...
Read moreI had the privilege of attending a yoga class led by Steph Bunno-Faultersack, and even in just one session, it was clear to me that she is an exceptional instructor. Steph creates an atmosphere of warmth, inclusivity, and encouragement that allows every student to feel supported and capable, no matter their skill level.
What impressed me most about Steph was her ability to intuitively read the room and tailor the class to the needs of the group. And this included instructions for both virtual and in-person participants! Her clear instructions, thoughtful sequencing, and focus on alignment demonstrated her deep expertise and dedication to the practice. In her class, I immediately felt comfortable and inspired by her calm, grounding presence.
Even though I’ve only been to a handful of classes at this studio so far that I’ve taken virtually, she has left a lasting impression. Steph is clearly a gifted teacher who fosters both personal growth and community in her practice. I’m looking forward to learning from her again and feel grateful for...
Read moreMy first visit to Citizens Yoga in Bloomfield Hills felt like stepping into a sanctuary suspended above the noise of the world—a rooftop oasis that gently lifted me into a realm of peace and breath. As my body navigates through a season of stress and wear, this space met me with grace, offering a class that felt not just like movement, but medicine. Cindy, with the wisdom of stillness and flow, led us through a sequence so thoughtfully woven it became poetry in motion. Chelsea’s warmth, Bruce’s humble brilliance—his yoga practice, a quiet marvel of mastery and age—anchored me deeper into presence. And when the class ended, it wasn’t just over—it transformed. The three of them, like gentle pillars, created a container of compassion where I could exhale the heaviness I’ve carried for far too long. Citizens isn’t just a yoga studio—it’s family. It’s a home disguised as a haven. And whoever the soul is behind this vision, know this: you’ve built more than a space—you’ve built healing. Thank...
