Amazing and Authentic French bakery cafe!! Such an unexpected but exciting find in the suburbs of Detroit. A must go if you're in the area and nearby. They have a wide variety of sweet and savory pastries, desserts, bread and food items. I went there everyday during my visit and tried many different items. I loved everything I tried especially the almond croissants, eclairs, fruit bread, and baguette(try the butter there). All the baking ingredients they use are shipped from France. The pastries, desserts and artisan breads are all top quality yet the price are very reasonable. The staff are welcoming, friendly and always patient with my questions. I bought a bag full of bread, baguette, croissants to take home. The bread and baguette toast well, crunchy crust, soft and chewy inside, pairs nicely with salad/soup/stew, or just eat it with butter or jam. My boys and I enjoyed them in the last few days. The only regret I have is I should've bought a lot more:) They make great gifts for friends/family! We'll definitely come back when we're in the area. Highly recommend times 3!!

Amazing, and elegant. Weird that their sign blends in with the wall therefore you barely notice there is a French boutique Patisserie hidden. Look at the picture. Once you walk it you can see all the goodies they have. Corssiant that is size of your face. Cakes, tarts , quiches. Anything you want they have it. Everything looks amazing and taste amazing. Glad that this place exist and people nearby don't have to go downtown for some French bakery.Their croissants and cakes are addictive, and expensive. I do need to stop coming here because 3-4 items can run you up to $30 dollars, cheaper than going to Paris or Montreal. Croissants are bomb, the only I am not frill about is their sandwich. Maybe the baguette they use is old but it is hard to chew. Also the workers do speak french, I don't know if it is a criteria to work there but if you speak French. The only problem is they serve everything in single use containers. Paper plates and cup. Which is not very French at all.

Delicious! We tried: Pistachio croissant - the eye catching green worried me but it was very flaky (in the best way possible) and the filing was incredible (tasted like some kind of pistachio-based marzipan Paris-Brest - the texture difference between the (incredible) hazelnut cream and the just-hard enough bun was the perfect combination. The whole hazelnuts dispersed in there were a delicious surprise and a pleasantly unexpected texture Cannellé - better than my last one (in Paris, France). Outside was very caramelized and the filling tasted super custardy Broccoli quiche - good Tomato and cheese sandwich - good Onion focaccia - different than an Italian onion focaccia (onion on top was caramelized, bottom of focaccia was fairly crunchy) but the combination of very soft top and very crunchy bottom was perfect.

I was in your shop Thursday afternoon. I had a cafe au lait while my wife was next door at Roland Optics. I finished my coffee and picked up my wife when she had finished at Roland. We were exiting Roland when my wife said that she wanted to look around in your shop. We looked at your display cases. She was admiring the beauty of your tartes. She told me that she didn't care what they cost, they are beautiful and she would be excited to serve them at an upcoming event. My wife is gluten free. She didn't see anything she could eat, but that isn't a consideration when she's thinking about entertaining. We continued past the register. You have a basket filled with bite sized store bought candy. She asked if they were complimentary and was told they were. She took a Snickers. We were walking out, ready to exit when we heard someone shouting at us, presumably Pierre. He shouted from behind the counter "Hey!" My wife stopped to see why he was yelling at her across the store. "You eat a piece of candy and look at everything in the store without buying anything. That's rude! You are impolite!". She said "My husband just had a cup of your coffee. " Truthfully, it shouldn't matter that I was a paying customer 45 minutes earlier. My wife was scolded for taking what we were told is courtesy candy. Your presumptuous outburst was inappropriate, hostile and upsetting. There was another customer in the store. It must have been uncomfortable for them to witness your hostility towards another customer. We have purchased from your shop several times. We will not be back. I will be posting this in a...

I don't blame the customers who are rating this store 5 stars. They have no idea of the French culinary specialties or how the French serve and present the food and pastries. We came to try the food here and I can tell you that nothing was fresh. We ordered $120 worth of food and this is our experience.

Upon entering the woman behind the counter did not smile to us or welcomed us warmly. It was a simple hello what do you need.

We started ordering and after every item we order she says: "is that all?" As if she wanted us to be done and leave. We ordered 10 pastries in total and 8 drinks and we got a "is that all?" right after each order. Imagine that!

The pastries were old. They were not fresh and definitely made that same day. The quiche wasn't made that day and was stale. The 2 brioches we ordered were not heated up only after I personally went to them and asked to heat them up.

I ordered a double espresso and I asked the man behind the counter to do it in a ceramic cup and not a paper cup. He looked at me with astonishment and said: "are you going to give me the cup back?" That was the most bizarre request ever unless people come to steal their cup I couldn't wrap my head around this question. So I said: of course I will give you the cup back?

Unbelievable!!

Anyway, I will not bore you with the plastic utensils and the paper plates... they couldn't even serve in glass plates and metal forks and knives.!!

This is the French experience with an American twist... for the profit and none of the rest...

I will...

I’ve mostly tried the pastries, bread, coffee and sandwiches here. Pastries and bread are good, but inconsistent, which I find particularly strange at a French bakery. It’s like they have a different baker every week. Sometimes palmiers are fluffy and light, sometimes they’re thick and dense. Sometimes the sourdough is perfect, but the last three weeks it’s been overdone and burnt. I’ve heard people complain about the coffee, but it’s Illy coffee, so I’m not surprised, I didn’t expect it to be that good.

The staff is much better than it used to be, slightly more friendly these days. If you show up and there’s a long line, just leave, this bakery does not have an efficient process to move people through a line quickly, you will wait and you will witness a mess. The big problem here is honestly the owner. I’ve seen him be very rude to his staff, and I witnessed him be just shamefully awful toward two young ladies that were asking for an application. It makes me not want to give him money and support his business, and I’m definitely not the only one who has noticed it. I’ve heard other people talking in line about his rudeness. Seems most of the things he yells at staff for are really about his own inadequacy in creating an efficient and consistent process his staff can follow. I have no doubt he will leave some snarky comment after this review like he’s done with so many others that will only further prove my point. It’s time to put a more competent and customer focused...
