Follow Up response to Salon 10/15/24: After reading the salon’s response, I’m genuinely surprised by the fabrications in their statement. While I did reach out multiple times regarding my concerns, as I mentioned in my initial review, it was never in response to any request to discontinue communication, as they now claim. At no point was I informed that the salon felt they were not a good fit for me, nor was I ever advised to seek services elsewhere. If such a conversation took place, it certainly wasn’t with me. Had this been communicated to me, I would never have continued attempting to contact them—so it was very disappointing to read their response.

I had three appointments with the owner, Shelly, totaling around $1,000 (note how the owner attempted to downplay my business in their response, as if my spending wasn’t significant), during which I worked remotely, as the salon accommodates remote work. There were no issues or unpleasantness on my part—in fact, we barely spoke. Despite one appointment overlapping with another client, leaving me unattended for long periods, I never complained or raised an issue.

It's disappointing to see the salon choosing to twist the narrative rather than handle this situation professionally. They claim to "pride themselves" on communication, yet none of this was communicated to me directly at any point. The fact that they can engage publicly with a review but couldn't engage with me about these supposed issues during my appointments speaks volumes.

I’ve attached a copy of the last correspondence I received from the salon in June of this year. This message came months after my last appointment there, and as you can see, there is no mention of me not being a right fit for the salon—whatever that even means.

Original Review 10/10/24: Stay away if you value communication, customer service, professionalism, and being treated with basic respect.

I’ve been a customer of SAB Hair Studio multiple times, spending a considerable amount of money with them, and was hoping to continue building that relationship. However, my recent experience has been incredibly disappointing. I’ve reached out multiple times via email and messages, trying to book an appointment and inquire about availability, but I haven’t received a single response despite several follow-ups.

For a business that I’ve been loyal to and have spent a lot of money with, this lack of communication is truly egregious. It’s frustrating, rude and unprofessional to be ignored in this way, especially when I had intended to return. After this experience, I’ve decided I will no longer have anything to do with this salon and I will never recommend this...

I got my hair braided by Shelly and I must say it was the best braiding experience, she is knowledgeable in everything hair. My first interaction with my stylist Shelly was via email. I saw her reviews and wanted to get my hair done by her, however I was suffering from badly damaged hair from a previous salon. Through email she consulted with me about deep treatment options as well as the perfect protective style that would best suit me. Around the perimeter of my hair is balding and I wanted to get box braids done. In order to achieve that style Shelly walked me through the technique she would use to get that done. She gave me box braids in the middle of my head and cornrow the perimeter of my hair that was balding and crocheted the braids on. As she explained there would be no tension on or pulling on my edges not to mention she has the gentlest hands I didn't feel a thing. I walked out feeling more confident and beautiful. I recently had the pleasure of visiting SAB Hair Studio, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Shelly's expertise is truly remarkable - she worked quickly yet with great attention to detail, ensuring that my hair looked fantastic. Not only is Shelly skilled in her craft, but she also took the time to understand and address my hair care needs. Her informative approach helped me better understand how to care for my hair between salon visits, which I greatly appreciated. The salon itself is impeccably clean, and the atmosphere exudes relaxation and calmness. From the moment I stepped in, I felt welcomed and at ease.
