My visit to Mr Exquisito last night was incredibly disappointing and frustrating, culminating in us leaving after an hour without ever receiving our food. We were seated, and our order was taken reasonably promptly. Unfortunately, that was the high point of the service. After placing our order, we waited. And waited. An entire hour passed, and our food was nowhere in sight. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of attention from our server. After taking the order, they never once returned to our table to check on us, offer an update or apologize for the delay. We had to actively try and get someone's attention multiple times to inquire about our meal. Each time we managed to ask, we were brushed off with a generic "it's coming soon," with no further explanation or sense of urgency. Adding insult to injury, we observed other tables, including at least one couple who were seated after us, receive their food while we were still waiting. Seeing others served while we were seemingly forgotten only compounded our frustration. Waiting an hour for food is unacceptable in almost any dining situation, but the combination of the extreme delay, the complete lack of proactive service, and the dismissive responses when we inquired made this a truly terrible experience. We eventually had to cut our losses, leaving hungry and extremely...
Read moreAt the time I'm rating this, it has 4.6 stars. I couldn't agree more with its placement but I had to choose 4 stars because of Google's limitations in rating. Warning: im starting with the negatives first. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars, for what this place is (more on what i mean of this in next paragraph) is 3 things, the last being small. First, that the music is a bit too loud where I can't comfortably speak with the person in front of me. Second, theirs a man that works there that doesn't wear all black and looks like a random dude or possibly even a customer. Thus, not soo professional. Lastly, the side orders in the menu don't have a price (not a big deal but if your a person who doesn't like to talk everything out with the waiter, this might be a pet peeve) This place does not pretend to be a fancy restaurant and is well suited for a casual, laid back or nice evening meal with the family.
The food: its presented well and taste amazing. Its also Legit Colombian and Latin taste. Nothing to complain about.
Clean: Immediately entering, the place where the tables are and the restroom are all...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to eating here because of the reviews and pictures. However, our experience did not meet our expectations. First of all, we waited close to an hour for our food. And, second of all, the meats were dry and flavorless, the tostones were overcooked and the maduros were undercooked. The juices were amazing! That’s about it. We ate the food and didn’t complain because we didn’t want to wait another hour for new food.
They had the nerve to charge us an automatic 18% gratuity. When I tried telling the waitress Cata that the food wasn’t good, so we didn’t want to pay the automatic gratuity, she gave me an attitude. Definitely not coming back. You don’t make people wait for bad food and then charge them a 18% tip. Presentation isn’t everything, the food has to have taste too.
For reference, we paid $106.67 for a pork chop that was 75% fat and bones with a side of mofongo, a thinly sliced chicken breast that could’ve been half or a third of a chicken breast, half a plátano maduro, half a plátano verde, a kids chicken tender and fries, and three drinks. Again,...
