The Brookside Banquets — Local services in Bloomfield

My experience with booking the Brookside Banquets for my mother's 90th Birthday celebration was WONDERFUL! First, the venue is tucked into a quiet suburban neighborhood that is easily accessible and not far from the Garden State Parkway. There is ample and safe parking. The outer building is pristine and well-maintained. Upon entering, there is a choice of two venue spaces, both of which are modern, and elegant. Secondly, though I hired my own party decorator/event planner, one was truely not needed as the decor of large floral vases was more than sufficient. There were many color choices for table cloths and napkins and even an added cost for mood lighting. The metallic chairs were elegant and comfortable. The bathrooms were pristine. Next, the staff, especially Lorraine, was very efficient, knowledgeable, patient and friendly throughout the event. She made suggestions and was very accomodating to my personal needs while planning the party. During the event, her supervision of the staff and flow of the evening was flawless and most importantly allowed my guests to enjoy themselves. Lorraine even made sure that my guests with special needs were personally accommodated. While I was too busy to eat, my guests raved about the freshness and delicious choices. We were primarily a Caribbean crew and the food was well-seasoned and plentiful. Lastly, my experiences with Bloomfield Banquets were wonderful. I was pleased with everything and most importantly my guests had a great time and raved about the facility, efficiency and friendliness of the staff. I will add that it would be a good idea to provide some sort of accommodations for the physically disabled to enter the venue spaces. There was a clear walkway, no stairs access to enter the building, but upon entering they must ascend or descend stairs.While there were railings and many hands to assist my mother with the stairs, my one concern was that there would be no mishap for those who had mobility issues. Let me begin by saying Lorraine is my new best friend! Since the very beginning when we were just starting to look for venues, she was quick to respond and detailed. My husband and I are grateful to Arthur as well, for working with us and our budget. It was the best experience, the whole way through. The space was PERFECT for us. Modern and elegant, what we were looking for. I loved that their was the space for the cocktail hour, the main room, andddd the garden was ready for us for an outdoor ceremony. Very simple arch we were able to decorate with draping and flowers, the paving was very nice and space size for our size wedding was great.

Back to Lorraine! She was always so responsive to my texts and never made me feel I was bothering her. Since I’ve never planned anything before, she made the process easy and helped me make important choices; for example Picking the menu and courses- that day I was alone, as my husband was working and she helped me decide what the best choices were. The attention she provided during wedding day was just beyond! She was very attentive and always asking if my husband and I needed anything. Wedding day from ceremony to end was smooth and not rushed. It was really a great night!

Food: guests couldn’t stop raving about it. The choices were great and so different; you definitely had a little bit of everything and it was so delicious.

When I first went looking for the perfect spot to host my Baby Shower, I kept feeling discouraged, ripped off, and rushed by other venues in the area. When I finally found Brookside Banquets, I felt so lucky and immediately knew this was the one! The entire staff, Arthur, Lorraine, and Vischon all have a "yes" and "can-do" attitude, which is rare these days, and so important for special events like this. They have decades of experience in the business and it truly shows. Every time I had the slightest question or concern, they had a solution. The food was DELICIOUS and ABUNDANT, drinks at the bar were 10/10, and the staff worked seamlessly with vendors (decorator, DJ, photographer, baker, etc) so much so that all we needed to do was show up and enjoy ourselves in their beautiful Renaissance Room. Lorraine was a proactive superstar on the day-of, she had all bases covered. You truly feel like the investment you made in your event was well worth it. At the end of the event, I could hear family and friends in the parking lot raving about what a beautiful event it was, and what an amazing time everyone had.
