Went here on October 1st for a horrible ear ache on my left side. The pain went down to my jaw and could barley chew or open my mouth. Waited 1hour which was fine. Then nurse called me in she put the blood pressure cuff on me and took out the thermometer. As she did that, she was talking to another nurse about random stuff while she doesnt even proceed to put the thermometer in my mouth but I waited there like an idiot while the thing was like not even close to my face. I then proceed to hunch forward to put it in my own mouth, takes my temp, doesn't tell me. The as she's still talking to the other nurse asks "That cuff didn't get tight did it?" Umm, no but maybe if you payed more attention to the patient rather than being distracted and talking about random stuff then you wouldn't be asking that question. So I then proceed to wait for the Dr. Very nice she then gave me discharge papers and told me I would be prescribed ear drops and if thise don't work then take amox. a few days later. I went to get my prescription the same day and the amox wasn't on there but she did say that I should wait 48hrs. I went back to my pharmacy after a day with even more pain and no hearing and a painful jaw and asked for the amox because the clinic said i could give them a script (which i didnt have). Pharmacy had to call them, after waiting for the pharmacist to get on the phone with them to explain the situation, the clinic hung up after not even 3 or 4 mjns of waiting. They had to call again and argue with them saying that it should have been prescribed at the same time with the ear drops not for 2 days later knowing that the patient is in pain and having a possible chance that the drops wouldnt work. After an hour ordeal with the clinic, I got the prescription. Started taking it for a day and all of a sudden not one, but both ears got infected. I could barley talk at that point and barley hear. I call the SAME clinic and tell them the situation just to see what I should do or if I could or should come back in. The lady said she would have a nurse call me back in a few. I called at 8am and at the end of the day, NO ONE had called me. So unprofessional and rude nursing staff. They probably didnt call back because they knew I was the same person having the issue with the prescription. I was better off getting better servicr at Amita or the ER. Will never go again, not even if...
Read moreImmediate care was a waste of time. My wife is 77 years old and has had a history of infections descending into bronchitis lasting a long time and potentially ending up in pneumonia. She went on my advice to Bloomingdale Immediate Care and, after several hours, saw Neha Dave. Neha pointed to a chart on the wall and said that my wife did not have covid and would not prescribe an antibiotic. She suggested Flonase. She said it might be a virus or it might be a bacterium, but neither Tamiflu nor Zpac were prescribed. We will now go to our primary care physician and get treatment there. This has happened before to me, where someone points to a chart on the wall and says, "No antibiotic for you!" The end result was I was sick and getting worse and the antibiotic was eventually prescribed. Rather than pointing to a chart on the wall, a responsible physician must consider the health and age of the patient. Immediate care? Worthless. I willnever go there again.
Follow up: I wanted to speak to the doctor, but I was told I would have to wait two hours. I said OK and put on a mask. Then I was told the doctor would not be able to see me. I reluctantly said OK and I was told that Neha Dave would phone me. They had my correct cell phone number. I waited three hours. No callback. I regret not camping in the the waiting room and watching for Neha Dave to pass by.
Northwestern Medicine got paid, that's for sure and they should be satisfied with themselves. It's all about processing a maximum number of people and minimizing the time spent by a "doctor" because the doctor is the highest salaried person. It has nothing to do with quality of service to the patient. We suffer the poor service of socialized medicine with the high cost of private insurance. Neha Dave should be fired and Northwestern Medicine should be forced out of business.
Additional follow up: Mid afternoon next day and still no contact from immediate care or Neha Dave. This is what I call a "tell the patient to get lost" attitude. Should change their name to "Immediately...
Read moreBeautiful Building- But awful & unprofessional service. They deny services for immediate care to my mother & an older couple because they want to leave on the clock. An excuse of “doctor doing too much overtime “ yet patients were going in & out quickly, it was only 6:30pm and they close at 8:00pm and let me tell you the 20 minute talk both receptionists were having with the same patient about unreasonable & unrelated discussions to the medical field BUT their personal lives . Knowing there were still people waiting to be registered, where that time would have been used to register patients.
As a former MA for years who worked in internal medicine & occ , this is unacceptable behavior & the worst service i ever encountered. Unfortunately my mom’s insurance is accepted in only northwestern locations & this is our closest for an immediate response and this is how they run things? Such a disappointment for Glendale Heights, Carol Stream residents ETC. who have to cross their fingers & hope they aren’t turned around and being told “ we are all “full”, doctor can’t see you” .
I apologize to many patients who have came here looking for care & encountered what we did , for those before coming here : THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS, & professional individuals that will actually make the time to see you & assist you & care for your health not give a dam if they will be late for dinner because I’ve worked with those before and they do exist , i will never understand why people decide to work in medicine if you dont have the patience , care , or time because at the end you aren’t making a difference, you are making things...
