Read moreI recently tried Matka Khichdi(Chicago) , and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The khichdi is served in a traditional clay pot (matka), which adds an earthy aroma and enhances the overall flavor. The texture was perfect—neither too mushy nor too dry—and the balance of spices was just right, offering a comforting yet flavorful taste.
What stood out was the variety of options they offer, from classic moong dal khichdi to unique fusion versions like paneer or masala khichdi. The accompaniments, such as curd, pickles, and papad, were fresh and paired perfectly with the dish.
The packaging was thoughtful, and the clay pot keeps the khichdi warm for a long time, making it ideal for takeaways as well. The portion size was generous, making it great value for money.
If you’re looking for a wholesome, healthy, and satisfying meal, Matka Khichdi is a must-try! Definitely coming back to try...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant hoping for a great dining experience but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. We spent nearly $85, took recommendations from the person at the register for their top items, and still walked away hungry—eventually stopping at another place for more food on the way home.
Here’s what we ordered and our thoughts:
Paneer Sandwich: 2/5
Dal Tadka Khichadi: 2/5
Masala Vagheri Khichadi: 2/5
Lasaniya Bhaji Pav: 2/5
Shezwan Vadapav: -1/5
Kaachi Bowl: -1/5
Kaccha Aam: 3/5
Kala Khatta: 3/5
Most items lacked flavor and quality. Despite the variety, nothing stood out or felt worth the price. The Shezwan Vadapav and Kaachi Bowl were particularly disappointing. The drinks, Kaccha Aam and Kala Khatta, were decent but couldn’t salvage the overall experience.
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this place or...
