Went in there 11/29 after comparing prices from all wireless providers for a few days. Online AT&T was the cheapest option for trading in old phones, getting new phones, insurance and EL unlimited plans. I had everything priced out online and went into the store to talk about porting numbers. I was told it was difficult to do online and that they could help me with everything in person. I said I want to make sure my bill is the same as the one I was quoted online. I was assured it would be. I was unfortunately lied to about that. I was told Costco members get their activation fee waived, that was also a lie, I have now found out from calling the Costco AT&T number that only happens if you buy the phones at Costco. I wanted the insurance for 4 phones for $50, I got that on 1 phone and individual insurance for $17 on another. They added upgrade any time to a few of the line for an extra $10 a month. So definitely be CAREFUL. I was told the Premium unlimited plan was the same price as the EL unlimited plan $40.99 per line, but really it was $50.99 a line. I have been in this store 3 times since then, after my phones arrived I went to the store before opening them and said my bill will be $236.79 before taxes and fees because I don't even want to touch these phones if it won't be, oh yes, it will be exactly like it was online. I have called AT&T 4 different times to get everything adjusted properly since they added the extra insurance, premium plan, upgrade anytime, it really is sad how much I was lied to just so they could sell me 4 brand new phones and get a nice commission check. I won't name names, but truly dissapointed. I know my first bill will be a little high but got an email saying my February bill estimate would be $412.17 a lot higher than what I was quoted online. After those 4 phone calls and adjustments I think it is all situated now because my latest email with an estimate said my bill will be $270.07 which is more realistic to what I wanted. I was told I would have to call back though because I will in fact be charged $140 to activate all 4 phones even though I was told it would be waived since I was a Costco member. Definitely be careful, they clearly add on as much as they can to your plan even if you show them a 5 page printout of everything you want, everything you want to trade in and everything you are expecting to pay.
Edited 1/29/25 after the owners responded, I emailed the email address provided within 24 hours, 2 weeks later they emailed me back asking for my phone number to "resolve" this issue, I provided it within 3 minutes and still have not heard a thing from them. My first months bill was $713.11 because of all the add on charges that I never requested. Fortunately I called AT&T's customer service line and was able to get some help from them, so if you are seeing this and thinking "oh at least they tried to resolve this issue" they in fact did absolutely nothing and were planning on leaving me hanging with a $713.11 first months...
Read moreI have had two bad experiences at this location and will not be going back. This first time I switched to AT&T from Cricket. The salesperson who was helping me told me I was unable to carry over my number from Cricket. I told them I would really like to keep my number, but they told me there was nothing they could do about it and gave me a new number. Thankfully, I was able to go to another location in Oak Brook and they were able to help me get my original number back and transfer it to my new phone. The second time I went in to trade-in my phone. I had no idea there would be so many hidden charges with this trade-in otherwise I would have never had done it. The salesperson who helped me was a terrible communicator and just wanted me to spend more money. He made me switch to the most expensive plan and told me I couldn't trade in unless I did that. Thankfully, I was able to reduce my plan after I left the store, so it really wasn't necessary for the trade-in to happen. Then he told me I had to spend at least $200 in accessories because there was a credit for trading in my phone. I thought this was a credit for the trade in, but now I noticed I'm being charged that $200 and it is being broken down into my monthly payments. I shouldn't be forced to spend $200 on accessories that I don't need or want! Needless to say after these two terrible experiences, I will be switching to another provider after my contract...
Read morehad a very disappointing experience at the AT&T store in Bloomingdale with a consultant named Subhan. We went in simply to buy a new phone, but after our purchase, Subhan called us from his personal number asking for a verification code sent to our friend's phone, which raised red flags for me. He claimed it was needed to complete the process, and I trusted him as a consultant. However, shortly after, we realized we could no longer share internet from our phones—a critical feature for my work. I also noticed four unfamiliar devices listed under our account, all labeled "Hotspot", i have to pay $86.47 for ich one. When I reached out to Subhan for clarification, he responded casually, telling me to come back the next day to fix the issue. The next day, I found out that Subhan was not working, and the staff refused to help without him. After several attempts to resolve the issue, including messages to Subhan that went unanswered, my friend finally visited the store when Subhan was there. While he managed to restore our ability to share internet, he left four unnecessary lines on our account and downgraded my plan from Unlimited Premium to Unlimited Starter, causing further problems. The lack of professionalism and communication from Subhan and the store staff has left me frustrated and questioning my continued relationship with AT&T. I would not recommend...
