Finally real Korean food in Blono. Awesomeness!
Dolsot-bibimbap was sublime with beef bulgogi as my protien choice. Very mild to start and needed lots of gochujang to get it up to my taste. Bowl was HOT! Rice was crispy on the bottom like it should be and very high quality vegetables. The fried egg was even garnished with dried seaweed for color and character.
Had to try the ramen, ordered HOT with beef bulgogi again. Dumped the banchan kimchee into it and wow! It was pleasing. Rich but not too salty broth. No "Chinese soup spoon" was provided so I just sipped the broth from the bowl. Make sure to finish the broth all the way to the bottom since it just gets more flavorful even if you have to take some noodles out if you're stretching you appetite.
Korean "popcorn chicken" was a kid with the kids. Sauce on the side though as even the mild was hot for most people. I'm going back to have some with the other sauces...
Banchan was only three, kimchee of course (really good too) and lettuce salad with sesame vinaigrette. This is my only gripe because a wide variety of banchan is really my most favorite part of Korean cuisine.
Service was almost overwhelmingly attentive and knowledgeable -- like 20% tip worth , fast service right after open at 5pm, clean place.
I really wish they had a sampler with small plate tastes of the top dishes, so I could have tried the galbi as well. Gee, I guess I'll just have to go back, darn it! As it stands we left with enough food for an entire meal for two so value was good considering a tab of $50...
Read moreCurrently, here for a week for business training. Want to try Korean food in the area. Found this place on google search. I had to wait for a table when arrive. While waiting my first impression was where are the Asians. I didn't see a single soul inside. Me and another person that was with me was the only Asian. I didn't see any Korean chefs. I did see an ajumma walk out of kitchen. But I finally got a table. I ordered pork bulgogi with sweet tea, waiter said it was spicy. The tea they didn't have sweet so waiter was going to bring sugar packet on side. The waiter brought out side dish which it didn't taste to good. The kimchi didn't look authentic and didn't taste that good. And it looked water down. The food arrived , my bulgogi was not spicy and tasted pretty bland. The waiter never provided sugar packet for my tea. The rice was to much on the mushy soft side. The waiter never stop by to our table or anything after, only to collect bill. My thoughts: Food was alright and prices is on the high side. Waiter wasn't attentive. It a small restaurant and there were full table. But like atleast stop by and ask how everything going are if need anything. I HONESTLY should have gone to a korean BBQ instead. Would I...
Read moreSeoul Mama was a nice place. The people are friendly and the chef even came out to the table and greeted us. It was a knew experience for us. The food was different but delicious. My husband and I shared a bowl of Ramen noodles with beef as a starter and it was amazing!
We both ordered different entrees. I ordered their beef stew which is called TTUKBAEGI BULGOGI . It was good but not at all what I expected. It is not American beef stew that's for sure, it's more like soup. It had beef, veggies and glass noodles. It wasn't bad but I really loved the broth in the Ramen noodles better. Plus I liked the Ramen noodles better than the glass noodles. But that is subjective, you may love it.
My husband ordered the BEEF BULGOGI. It comes with a bowl of rice and the Korean side dishes, that are for the whole table, and it was delicious!
We had the HONEY RICE CAKES for dessert. They were definitely different. Of our group three people liked them one person didn't like them at all and 1 person wouldn't even try it! I personally liked them they have white bean paste in them which is definitely Korean. They are sweet but not too sweet like American desserts. Overall a great experience that everyone should have...
