I submitted an online order for invitations. An associate called me when the order went through to confirm that I wanted a small white border on the edge of the invitations. I confirmed that I wanted the border. Associate understands and call ends.
I go to pick up invitations and there is a long wait in line to pickup when in reality my order should have been on the pickup counter so I didn't need to wait. So I wait and there are employees who seem to be doing nothing but somehow can't help me?
I finally get up there and get my order after the employee walks around confused on where it was. Then I ask to buy stamps and he sends me to different counters where I have to wait in line again....even though he was available.
I get home and look at the invitations and they were done so poorly. The white border was not included Corners were cut on an angle for some reason but we're not uniform and weren't even on all four corners. Really weird. I have no idea how someone thought that looked good. I noticed white dots on the invitations which were not part of the design. The envelopes provided were way bigger than the invitations.
Overall, a huge fail for Office Depot and I will never use their print services again. And if you're wondering...no, I did not go back to complain. They did such a BAD job that I didn't trust them to do better and it wasn't worth multiple trips to get it done. I fixed the corner cuts myself as best I could and moved on. But I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS FOR...
Read moreA Thursday scorched beneath the noonday blaze, Nineties heat pressed heavy on my skin, With Wu-Tang’s “Triumph” threading through my ears, I journeyed to the shrine of staples, tape, and ink— Office Depot 513, the portal framed (Bloomington? Normal? Where does one start and end) By whispered sighs of dwindling staff and time, Where fleeting ghosts of real pencils emerge— An echo from the cobbled past, 1900s breath.
My hand secured a mouse, sleek and new, And braved the fancy folly: paper tape, A curious relic in this wired age. Yet nothing prepared me for that glance— Her hair a rainbow strap of quiet fire, A demeanor caught between worlds digital and real— “Are you MS’s wife?” I asked, heart alight, but unsure. “Yes, and you—Matthew, the forgotten friend,” she smiled, A spark igniting in the paper aisle’s glow, Half a minute’s magic amid printing sheets, Time folded briefly in the hum of clerks and heat.
Outside, the “chicken triangle” waits, A fast-food landmark, two miles from home, While summer air simmers with relentless grace. Office Depot, you fail and yet you hold us, A testament to trying, to striving still— Not OfficeMax, not Staples, but you, With all your weary, human flaws and charm.
And as the clock beats toward evening’s promise, I wonder—will cauliflower meet its fate for din din, Air fried, supreme, beneath the cooling dusk? What a world we live in—strange, steaming, and bright, Where magic hides in aisles of...
Read moreUpon entrance into the store it was difficult to find an employee. The intention was to purchase a desk and office chair. I'd already scoped a few out online and was ready to make a purchase if the product met expectations as described online.
The desk had an older price tag on it. The tag was so old it had yellowed with age. It was also priced $130 more in store than online. Once I found an employee, he was helpful and courteous. He said they could price match the online price. I asked to confirm if the product was in stock. Turns out it wasn't. The store had made a mistake that you learn in Retail 101. They'd inventoried the floor model. So it showed in stock, when really it wasn't. I ended up buying online. I had just purchased several pieces of furniture via Amazon and assumed Office Depot had similar options. They did not. Furniture delivery takes 10 days (estimated) with no faster option (versus Amazon where I got furniture delivered in 2 days).
All being said employees (if you can find them) are nice, but the store (and organization as a whole) needs to be managed better and update parts of their...
