I've been shopping in Kroger for a long time, and I've witnessed how its service and products worsen and decrease. Regularly many products are missing, especially early in the morning and late in the evening. Some staple products have disappeared completely. Perhaps Kroger has not enough workers. If so, Kroger must think of offering fair wages. Besides, many customers wear no mask even at the peak of Covid19, and the personnel does nothing to impose obligatory masks. Many of the shopping carts are broken but they still are placed with the functioning ones. Some of the brand Kroger products are blatantly inferior, e.g. Kroger yogurt contains a lot of water compared to other brands of yogurt. The selection of healthy foods is minimal, e.g., there is very limited choice of foods with low or no sodium and salt or with reduced or no fat. Often the personnel is not polite, including the pharmacists, especially on the phone. In short, Kroger has numerous problems and areas for improvement. Obviously it needs a strong competitor so that it starts fearing for its profits. As of now Kroger has little competition in Bloomington and no...
Read moreThe worst experience shopping at a grocery store ever! When my largest bill is for food because I choose to buy organic healthy foods I would at least like to be able to go through a checkout! Not only did I have to use the u-scan....the Man was horrible to me and my family!!! He was rude, harrassing, and lied about sending a manager when asked for one. The Man that was sent who was not a manager was rude as well! Beyond rude and the other employee proceded to come back and harrass more! As me and my family started to walk out he said he would call the police and escort us out....I had simply said I wanted a manager. I wanted to get my trash stickers still and they said we could not purchase them at this time, this being after they had told me before the would have them waiting! This is the second time with the same employee! There have also been more than a normal amount of rude employee's...
Read moreI shop here all the time and haven't really had any issues with it. They have a wide variety of foods, produce and deli meats, it's always been clean and inviting, and the staff are helpful if you need them. Plus, the food isn't too expensive for a big retail store, and their card saves a ton of money with sales and deals so definitely sign up for one if you plan on shopping here a lot (it's free!).
One star off though because their deli counter might be the slowest ever. I hate to berate employees, because they're always nice enough, but it will literally take over 20 minutes to get just one or two types of lunch meat. I can't possibly tell you what takes up all that time. It's absurd. So if you want deli meat (which is infinitely better than prepackaged meat), be prepared for a wait.
It can also get pretty busy on weekends, which makes maneuvering carts somewhat difficult....
