I have eaten fast food Chinese for 45 years now. I used to eat at Chinese restaurants in Chinatown in Philadelphia and New York City. I am from Pennsylvania and have eaten fast food Chinese for decades. My first puzzler is how this restaurant could be on a good eats page? Are all restaurants this bad in Bloomington Indiana? Are people actually this tolerant of terrible food in Bloomington Indiana? I ordered fried dumplings, 2 egg rolls, house lo mein, and wonton soup. Egg rolls, flavorless. Nothing but slimy coleslaw. Grade: D I struggled through the first one, and wound up throwing the second one out. Dumplings: The meat inside was pink, that would mean uncooked. The flavor was bad, Grade: D. I actually could only eat two, before making my mind up to just stop. Wonton Soup: fairly flavorless, no pork in it whatsoever, mostly vegetables and chicken broth that was greasy. One of the worst wonton soups I have ever had in 50 years! Grade: C , And I always judge my Chinese restaurants on it's wonton soup I should have known not to try the main course. House lo mein : noodles were incorrect. Far too much soy sauce, far too much oil. The entire dish was a dark brown color, one could not distinguish chicken or shrimp or beef it was that dark. Far too much grease. You could easily cut 50% of the soy sauce and 50% of the oil and improve this dish. Without a doubt the worst lo mein I have ever had. I could not finish it, and threw most of it away. I actually do not like leaving a bad review on any business, I understand how hard it can be. But in order to open up a restaurant, one should already know how to make the specific dishes correctly. Therefore I believe you deserve this review. The good, hungry people of Bloomington Indiana that really do want good Chinese food deserve your talent, and should be demanding that you produce a higher quality meal. I honestly cannot see myself ever ordering from your restaurant again. Consider me incredibly...
Read moreI have been eating at peach garden for years and up until last night it’s been a decent experience. The staff has always been kind etc. The meals have been a bit expensive compared to other places but I never really minded because the food was always fresh. We had a delivery last night and it showed up earlier than expected which was good news. The food at first glance was overcooked and burnt in some spots and while eating it didn’t taste very fresh but I assumed it was because it had been overcooked and didn’t feel quite right after eating a small portion of the meal In the middle of the night I woke with vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea that has not subsided we are working on about 12-13 hours of these symptoms. I urge the staff there to review their food safety protocols so this doesn’t...
Read moreEverything in the picture amounted to a total of $85. Everything was pretty standard American Chinese food. I thought the egg rolls stood out as really good but other than that nothing was stellar. The general Tso didn’t have much sauce, the pepper chicken did not have much chicken and wasn’t that spicy, the homeward boiled dumplings were pretty bland and the dumpling dough was very thick. The lo mein and fried rice were good but were lacking something in flavor. I do want to say that they had EXCELLENT customer service and called us to let us know our order was ready. The guy on the phone is friendly and easily understandable. They do not take a cash discount. All in all glad we tried but we probably...
