I used to go to this Home Depot regularly. Every time I go to this location now I become frustrated.
They don't downstock merchandise well. The product may be in but you will have to wait 10 minutes for them to locate more and get it with a ladder or lift.
They routinely are out of stock of small hardware items.
They don't communicate well:
My mother purchased a snow blower. She put it on will call so I could pick it up later another day. She called the morning I was coming in to let them know to have it ready for me. When I came in nobody knew where it was and didn't know anything about me coming to get it. I have a different last name than her because she kept her name in marriage. (She explained this to them earlier)
So... I handed the phone to the person "helping" me so she could say it was ok to release the snowblower to me.
Instead of handing me back the phone when he was done he put the $400 iphone on the counter. It was then stolen by the person behind me in line. (this was discovered on camera)
I missed an extremely important call that day and still over a month later haven't heard any progress from the police. Home depot apparently cooperated and gave the police the information of the person who was behind me obtained (luckily he was returning something so they had his information).
I went in today to get tube sand for my truck and salt for the water softener. The tube sand is in the back of lumber. I had 2 dogs in the car and didn't want to wait in their understaffed lines so left.
In Eden prairie the tube sand is right by the lumber door so you can pull out and checkout in less than 2 minutes. They also put concrete there so you don't have to push a cart with weighing 1000lbs around the store. What a novel idea!
I will go to Eden Prairie or St. Louis park. Plymouth is ok but more disorganized and harder...
Read moreI've never known home depot for their customer service but this as been absolutely one of my worst experiences. I was asking an older white male employee about plumbing. I'm an apprentice and I'm not quiet familiar with what products to buy or what their names are but I know how to sweat pipe and install shut off valves. When asking the employee to help me find shut off valves he leads me to the the preassure types? Either way I was amusing I couldn't sweat it because it looked plastic. I explained what I needed to the employee. Not only did he question why I wanted shut off valves and handed me a pipe caps instead he wouldn't even give me any proper information on where to find what I need. I had corrected him many times only to receive insults to my knowledge on the matter. My favorite comment was "well instead of burning your whole house down why not use these?". I have never been so pissed at an employee to where I couldn't even hide it. I took the stuff he handed me and left them at the front and walked out. No sale. My mother was with me at the time too. Maybe two women looking to do a man's work intimidated him. Not sure.
Anyway I can't tell if all the old white male employees here are sexist or home depot just like hiring people who makes them lose $100 dollar or more sales to Menards.
Menards and I had a good laugh at this problem and their plumbing supervisor is a woman. They helped me find what I need and without insulting my intelligence they were able to give me additional information.
Home depot, if you are teaching your employees to talk customers out of buying what they need at your store. You're doing it right. This also isn't the only employee who has treated me with disrespect at this location. I was ignoring it until this point. I will no...
Read moreHorrible customer service. Went in to buy a couple towel racks and a toilet paper holder for my bathroom. Back in the bathroom section next to all of the hardware is a huge yellow sign that says something like...bulk up and save, buy 3 or more and get 10% off, any variety. On the shelf there are price tags that say regular price and price if you buy 3 or more. I get two towel bars and a toilet paper roll holder...that is 3? When I go to the front to use the self checkout it does not give me the discount so I ask the employee standing over there for help. He tells me he doesn't know what I'm talking about, fumbles around through his computer, and again tells me he doesn't know what I'm talking about and doesn't see any such deal them tells me to go register 9 so he can help me. I move to a regular register, again the items get scanned and no discount. I again explain the sign about getting 10% off and he tells me if it's a real sale it would automatically come off, I tell him there is a big yellow sign and price tags, he still says it's not a real sale and recommends I make the purchase and then go to customer service for help. At this point I'd had it so I said screw it and told him I would be going elsewhere and I walked out.
Absolutely horrible service! Yeah it's only 10% but that's not the point! Pick up the phone and call someone in the bathroom section to verify, offer the discount even if it's not coming up, offer to walk back and check the deal. DO NOT just say too bad and let a customer walk out. I will never go back to the Bloomington Home Depot or any for that matter, I'll stick...
