I brought my prescription from my eye doctor to Warby Parker. It had been a few years since I purchased new glasses and my prescription had changed quite a bit, so I needed new glasses and heard good things about Warby Parker. When I received the glasses, although I paid for thin lenses they were very thick. My vision felt blurry, everything looked like a fish bowl, I felt dizzy, etc… after contacting them and reading reviews everyone said this is normal and will improve. I’ve never experienced this with new glasses before, but since my Rx jumped quite a bit I figured it was normal. I also only wear my glasses at night before I go to sleep, so I assumed maybe I just don’t wear them enough to feel normal. There’s no way I could wear them for daily activity. Fast forward a year, I visit my eye doctor who tests my WP glasses and tells me that the right lense is 4 steps above what my prescription should be. Well now it all makes sense. I called WP and they won’t do anything. They said it’s been too long, but they could charge me $225 to replace the lenses. ABSOLUTELY NOT! Clearly there’s no quality control and I’m not going to take my lenses to my eye doctor to have them checked, they should do that. Again, wearing glasses for 30 years and I’ve never had this issue, after googling it, a lot of Reddit reviews saying the same. I guess it’s a bigger issue with WP and higher prescriptions. So, if you need mild correction it may be okay. I will NEVER...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER AS A RETURNING CUSTOMER. I wanted a new pair of glasses and all the employees said that they could support my stronger prescription. They helped me place an order in store and I submitted my new prescription online awaiting my amazing new pair of glasses.
After a week, they told me that they don’t support my prescription with the excuse of “ our laboratory can’t make them”. I literally ordered glasses a couple years ago with the same prescription of -“7.5”.
I talked with someone for an hour to try and find a solution. They couldn’t give me any explanation as to why they no longer support my prescription. During the call, they mentioned several times that they were more than happy to sell me a pair of frames without lenses. (A little aggressive sales in my opinion)
Also on their website it says that they support this high prescription and you can place an order online and pay for them with a prescription above “-+6.0” (which I guess is their new standard)
I thought Warby Parker cared about its customers, but I guess they’re turning into a money focused business....
Read moreWarby Parker is truly a wonderful brand. What I especially want to highlight is the staff – they are incredibly kind, approachable, and professional. When it comes to the glasses themselves, I really like the material, the lightness of the prescription lenses, and the design, which is absolutely beautiful and modern.
So why 4 stars instead of 5? Unfortunately, the scratch-resistant coating is quite poor. Both of my children treat their glasses with exceptional care – no rough handling, no wearing them to the park or during sports, they clean them only with the designated cloth, and always store them properly in the case – yet after a very short time, the lenses became scratched. These are micro scratches that look like the protective coating is coming off just from wiping. It’s very strange and disappointing, because the scratches spread quickly and begin to interfere with vision.
It’s really a shame, because if the quality of the lens protection were improved, Warby Parker would have no...
