Bazille at Nordstrom — Restaurant in Boca Raton

Decided to stop in here, since my daughter had raved about the French dip sandwich. Located in Nordstrom at Boca Town Center, this is a great restaurant for breaking up a long day of shopping.

We got there about 1:00 and were seated right away. Half an hour later, the place was packed with people waiting in line. The interior is contemporary and comfortable with low lighting. There are tables and booths for seating.

The pleasant waitress was at our table in no time, with a basket of fresh bread and butter. She immediately noticed that we were already prepared to order our meal along with our drinks, so she didn't quickly run off before we had time to do both. We told her that we were going to share the French dip. While this is met with frowns and grumbles in some places, that was not the case here.

It was only a very short time before our lunch arrived. Unlike other places, we didn't have to share a plate or weren't just given an extra empty plate so we could split the sandwich ourselves. Each plate was presented as if that was the way it was always done. We each had what appeared to be a full order of fries along with their house dip for the potatoes. The sandwich was a nice mound of very tender, thinly sliced, lean rib eye steak, piled on a crunchy baguette type roll. The au jus was genuine, not commercial bouillon in a cup. It was richly flavored and delicious. The dip for the fries will make you never want them in anything else again. They make a blend of Greek olives and mayo that brings out the best in the hot, thin and perfectly cooked fries.

While the prices are on the high side for lunch ($16 for the sandwich), it is easily enough for two and the courteous service along with the nice presentation make it...

I took my daughter prom dress shopping on Friday night in the Boca Mall. After we were done I wanted to treat her to a nice dinner and I remembered all of the glowing reviews so we headed over. It's located on the second floor of Nordstrom's against the back wall. The restaurant is so dark that you can't really see in from the store. I actually thought it was closed until we got closer and saw someone moving inside. We got there at 8:30 and it was pretty empty.

We were quickly seated and brought menus. The French dip caught my eye until I saw the calorie count was over 1.500! Except for the salads the meals offered were pretty high in calories. I appreciate that they give you the calorie count because there is no way I am blowing that many calories on one meal. My daughter ordered it instead and she loved it. She declared the bread was exactly like the French baguettes she had in Paris. I took a little bite and it was rich. I went with the chicken paillard salad which was clocked in a much more reasonable 550 calories. It was a very thin chicken breast, quite large, covered in greens with a vinaigrette dressing. For a chicken salad it was pretty tasty.

The restaurant was elegant and the service was attentive. If I wasn't trying to count calories I would have splurged on dessert. It was nice that their menu while small does have some salad offerings for people watching their health and weight. Thankfully Bazille does not have Nordstrom prices for their food. My girlfriends & I have enjoyed cocktails and dinner at Bazille many times over the past year. Amazing food, good service and LOVE the ambiance. This past weekend I wanted to bring my husband and son there for a late lunch. It was the first time I had encountered an issue when arriving and waiting to be seated... There was an issue that really left a bad taste in my mouth. However, after leaving I decided to call and speak with the manager on duty. The Manager Brian turned a not so welcoming situation into the BEST experience I've had to date. He went above and beyond, the food was out of this world, our server was a delight. Overall Brian's hospitality, genuine approach and attention to detail and making sure we were happy and remained returning customers was really special and more importantly appreciated. I recommend trying this place out if you shopping or even just looking for a great place to go for drinks, light bites, lunch or even dinner...
