Virginia Credit Union — Local services in Bon Air

Yeah, I should've been prepared for my experience based on the reviews but I was like, it can't be that bad can it? no, it can. TERRIBLE customer service. I was in for notary service and my teller seemed like she couldn't be bothered. then didn't understand the document she was looking at. then after a long period of silence says something to the screen instead of engaging with her customer and then sends me to wait on someone else. I was mistaken in hoping i was going to speak to a manager or someone with some customer service skills. he proceeded to tell me they couldn't notarize my documents because I needed a different type of notary. when I asked what the difference was.... this dude told me to Google it. for real?? nope. I'm taking my money out of this...

Went to the Kroger Center Virginia credit Union today and I was told to sit down. I waited approximately 15 minutes then one man went in another room closed the door. Another gentleman came out typed on his computer behind me and then told me that the gentleman standing at the Teller area would help me. I "thanked' the gentleman behind the teller desk and proceeded to head out the door before I asked information for some what I wanted to talk them about. He handed me papers for buying a home, I have a home. Why did I need to talk out in the middle of the teller desk? Plenty offices available. Worst attitude worst customer service poorly dressed man. Thanks to the gentleman at the teller desk. It wasn't you it was the other two gentlemen. I see why the stars...

I was so dissatisfied with my previous credit union that I got my mortgage here and then transferred all but spending money to VACU. My other credit Union now has even more horrible service, never answers the phone, makes me leave messages and calls back at the worst times when I can't talk & doesn't call back (again, can't ever reach the account person who apparently is in another state), can't give account info older than 18 months, takes weeks for a replacement card, etc., so I will close that account and start another here. It will be a real laborious pain to find and transfer bills I paid out of the previous bank account, but it will be worth it. I have only had attentive, competent...
