Costco Wholesale — Local services in Bonney Lake

It's a great little shopping trip for a Costco considering that there's about two other ones propositioned about 20 to 30 minutes away from this one, but the selection is completely underwhelming. It gets you by on the basics but when it comes to the Costco out in Puyallup, it pales in comparison. I'm not even going to go into details about the Costco out at Fife cuz that's THE Business Costco, but when you compare it to the retail variation which is the Costco in Puyallup plus the Costco in Tacoma, there is so much to be desired at this location. I don't know what it is about Bonney Lake when it comes to the stores and the selection that's offered in Bonney Lake. But it's always a miss and this Costco is NO exception. The employees are great and I am always impressed by the level of care and consideration by the employees and management, they work really hard and they do a good job at keeping this Costco nice and clean. I love the layout of this parking lot and the layout of the gas station. So much more than the other locations, but the gas prices here at this location are worse than the Tacoma location, BUT better than the Puyallup location. SOMETIMES. I just don't like the 'retail' selection. The Puyallup location that I go out to for once in like a blue moon happens to have so many variations of heaters and we didn't even get one box of heaters over at our Costco location. We didn't even get boots, or at least not very many this year and it was terrible all around. Usually there's about two different colors of the men's slippers and there wasn't even that. There was just gray slippers this year. And they went SLOW. They sat for a while. Longer than usual. I think the only redeeming fact about this Costco location is just the fact that it has the base minimum staple goods, which is also arguable when comparing it to the business Costco Fife location, and also that it has some really good snacks. I definitely wish that the non-food retail section was a lot better,...

OPTICAL Review:

I don't recommend this Costco Optical at all. The doctor is not helpful, doesn't really explain anything and just seems to want to get you in and out as quick as possible. So whatever; but then on the backside, not explaining things takes up more of the customer's time in the end. I got two week contacts and was told to call at the end of the two weeks to fill a prescription if they worked out. So I called after the two weeks passed but no one could tell me anything, meaning when the contacts would be ready and what I'm looking at cost wise. I just got transferred all over the place to learn (30 minutes later) that I have to go in to place an order and wait another week for contacts.... weird. The worst part - I have an astigmatism in one eye so there is a specific contact for that eye (which I didn't know because the doctor didn't tell me). Though I've worn contacts before they apparently weren't the lens type this doctor gave me come to find out. It seems I was provided with a Toric Contact Lens... that's fine but I wasn't even told these are a completely different lens type and therefore need to be put on the eye in a certain position. So, I put it in like a normal contact and it was really uncomfortable but I didn't know why... I called the Optical Department and explained what was happening and was just told to come back in - no mention at all about the lens type and how it's different.... I turned to the power of Google to figure out what the heck was going on and why the contact was so uncomfortable... 2 minutes later I knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. Seems that information would have been helpful directly from the doctor when I was given the two week trial set. Again, I totally don't recommend this particular Costco for your Contact Lens Optical needs BUT everything else...

I live halfway between South Hill and Bonney Lake Costco's. We've been all over the USA traveling including Hawaii and Alaska so we know the inside of a Costco store and how it should be set up for "Standard." Today at Bonney Lake Costco we got the items we needed and walked to the checkout. There was no line at one register so we chose it. Right away we were cattled in between where customers are supposed to pay. I noticed the isle being very narrow. Much narrower than any Costco I've been in. Note: I have PTSD. The Covid plastic window barriers make this whole situation multiple times worse...I could feel my PTSD triggering. I was not prepared for this situation. The man facing the other way was not ready for it either because when he backed up we both bumped into each other. I was trapped, I couldn't go forward, I couldn't back up because now the line was stacked up behind me. I wanted out of that place...it was clostraphobic. It was so bad that all at once I forcefully slapped the windows and loudly in protest I said, "This is ridiculous!" I felt very unsafe and I was fully triggered. Truthfully, I do not appreciate being made to feel this way. I wasnt mad, just upset...my heart was pounding and episodes like this have taken a huge toll on my well being. Walking out of the store I decided to stop at the Return/Customer Service Counter and I talked to a supervisor and told him this same story. Again, I wasn't mad, but inside I felt like I had been assaulted all over again. The Supervisor said that because of the new Self Checkout isles the normal isles had to be crammed in tighter with no additional room for the customer. It looked to me like the Costco workers there had way more room to do their jobs however. I'm very very concerned about this being the...
