The definition of a small book store. Located just off the main harbor, this store features two stories with the lower story having numerous items ranging from kitchen devices through greeting cards through memorabilia related to booth bay and Maine. Going up the stairs you enter the book area where there is a sizable bargain book section and then several smaller book shelves with various topics ranging from computers (out of date materials from what I saw ~2016 updates) to travel. There is a sizable nautical book area with charts and the like as well. Service is good and efficient and I would like to have seen some more gaming books (tabletop RPG or otherwise) and some more updated books from what they have now. The largest, and thus our favorite, Sherman's. I could spend hours shopping here. I always leave with a book or three, some gifts for friends, and stationery. Their points system beats any other bookstore I go to. I regularly have either $10 or $20 off because of the points I make on purchases and I usually spend less than $50. I love the assortment of books, the books on sale, the best Maine themed gifts, the biggest Maine themed/basrd book selection. Jewelery, candles, tea towels, puzzles, games, beautiful...

I love going into any bookstore, but Sherman's has a very pleasant atmosphere. They have a massive fiction section upstairs, a large discount book area, a comic book and graphic novel section, and even an entire selection of high-quality maps.

Downstairs, you can buy children's books and toys, as well as various knick-knacks and novelty items.

I only gave them one star off because they either didn't have a non-fiction section entirely, or it wasn't marked very well and I missed it.
