Let me start off by saying I have never really loved my haircuts, maybe for a couple weeks after, but then it’s almost like the magic of leaving the salon and that initial unveiling of my new hair is gone. I’m kinda like wait my hair looked way better styled and everything in front of the mirror at the salon. Now I’m left with choppy layers and this sucks because most of the week my hair is up in a ponytail working as a nurse in a hospital.
That was not the case here. My sister has raved about Gina and I thought why not? And booked a new client haircut with her and thought her goes!
Gina is quite literally a hair sculptor because she sculpted my thick, stubborn hair into something I freaking love now. It’s been about three months since my visit and I wanted to wait until my hair had grown out, how I liked it up and how easy it was to style down.
I walked in and she was so friendly and welcoming. We talked a lot about how I usually wear my hair for work, my concerns, my negative past experiences, and my hair goals. Like I said my hair is very thick and that was one of my biggest concerns because when I’m out of the shower and running to work and let it air dry it gets super puffy and is not cute. She asked if I wanted to try layers I said whatever you think. She gave me inner layers that made my hair half the thickness it normally is and I have never felt lighter and better. It was like a weight was literally lifted off my shoulders. I had walked in with long, boring hair that was growing close to my elbows. With zero style. Gina gave me inner layers to lighten up the volume of my hair and added long layers with long, framing curtain bangs that were so freaking cute and effortless to style.
While cutting my hair she kept me engaged with her humor and checked in with me throughout every step on how long she was cutting and where it would end up in length. Then we went to the wash station and she washed and dried my hair and styled me with long curls and you can really see my layers in my finished hair and the BOUNCE that I rarely see from the weight of my hair.
I honestly am a new woman and will only be going to Gina from now on so do what you want with that information. Like I’m three months out and my hair has grown out and I’m STILL loving my hair! Like before and after my shower I always give it a look because I’m just still in awe that my hair has given me this new boost of confidence that I really needed. Life isn’t always easy and there are up’s and down’s, but looking good and feeling good is something I’m carrying with me into the New Year and I’m so excited to have met her and found my new hair place. Highly recommend because you’ll be...
Read moreI have been seeing Shey for almost a year now, and when I tell you I have never had a better stylist/colorist I mean it! She is so knowledgeable and experienced and it’s obvious. She takes the time to get to know you and ask you elements of what you’re looking for to generate your perfect color and cut. My hair has never been so healthy! When I told her I was growing out my hair for my wedding, she took extra care to ensure it was the length and color I wanted for the big day, even months in advance! She also introduced me to Sarah, the updo specialist at the salon, for my wedding. Sarah also is so professional and kind. She brought my vision to life for my wedding and it held all through the night and the next day. I got so many compliments on how unique it was! Now my husband goes to Shey for his cut too (Her Salon is not just for her!!) The prices are so fair for Boston and when you consider the quality of their services. On top of this, they’re taking extra precautions with Covid so I always feel safe coming into the salon. Not to mention they’re so much fun to be around and the actual salon itself is moderno clean and welcoming. These women are so genuine, hard working and talented. I will never go to another...
Read moreI couldn’t possibly write a glowing enough recommendation for this salon, but here goes!! Sadé & Gina are WIZARDS at what they do - Sadé for hair coloring & Gina for haircuts. I have really thick hair that was colored with henna & Sadé has helped so much in switching me over to professional color, still making sure my roots match perfectly through the whole grow out process, and walking me through my options if I ever do want to go back to my natural color. Gina has tamed my hair and made it so manageable - it has been so fun to experiment with bobs & Sabrina Carpenter bangs and as I just visited right before I’m about to leave Boston, she gave me a haircut that will be so easy to maintain & will make the grow out of my hair so easy even while I can’t make it back to the salon. I have been going to them for the past year & feel so lucky to have found them. Also, neither of them charge more for thick hair!!! Everytime I’ve left their salon, I have felt so listened to, so thrilled with my hair, & it is honestly just recharging to be around them because they’re both truly kind and so talented at what they do. If you are looking for a new salon, run don’t walk!! Gina & Sadé: thank you for...
