My phone started experiencing issues last Thursday. I got a System UI notification stating there's a "problem reading your battery meter" along with a question mark in the battery icon. I restarted my phone thinking it would resolve the issue. It brought me to the Android Recovery mode, which forced me to factory reset. My phone was still malfunctioning, flashing, unable to reboot, and force shutting all on its own even after factory resetting it multiple times. By the end of the day, it worked fine, but I still got that System UI notification. I was on Android 11. I still had the same issue after updating to Android 12, so updating the software didn't matter. I fully charged it that night and missed my alarm the next morning because my phone shut off. It needed to be plugged to a charger all the time. I called Google Support and was recommended to go to a uBreakiFix store. I spoke to the store lead, Jonathan Vazquez. He was knowledgeable, very patient in explaining the process and reassured me that replacing the battery would fix the issue. Luckily, they had a battery in stock and told me I could come in and get it fixed the same day. They replaced the battery in less than 2 hours and my phone is working like a brand new phone! My phone qualified for the 1-year extended repair program and it was free of charge! Jonathan made the process so smooth and easy - I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in with a smart tablet TV (basically a tablet on a stand I can wheel around and the base is the battery). I had called ahead and asked if they worked on machines like this and stated the problem. The man on the phone was nice and said they would have to take a look and open it up. When I went in, the man at the front heard what happened and immediately told me that it was unfixable and I should buy a new one. I said a new one would be at least 800 and asked if there was anything they could try or to least open the device and check. The man who helped me had no inclination to do such a thing. All he kept saying was it was broken and I needed to buy a new one. My sister was with me and immediately upon leaving the store said, "well that was beyond patronizing." We know nothing about technology but agreed it didn't make sense that it was completely broken beyond repair. I took it one block down to CPR Cell Phone Repair. They said they would take a look. Within a half hour they had called me, told me the power source was shorted and that they would order the part for me. I now have a fixed tablet for way less than 800 dollars all because an employee at the second place I tried was willing to give me a little bit of their time. Also, CPR Cell Phone charges 50 dollars to do an initial look while this place charges 60. So just skip this place and go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn or about the 29th or 30th of November 2024, I went into uB4eakiFix shop on 70 Franklin Street, Downtown, Boston, MA to replace a faulty battery on my Samsung ZFold3 phone. This is supposed to be a simple $30 service, but the guy there claimed that he had to do a diagnosis which would cost $100. I agreed and handed in my phone. Three hours later when I got back to the shop my battery was not changed, and the guy told me that my WiFi and speakers were nolonger working. Not only did uB4eakiFix fail to replace the battery, they spoilt my WiFi and speakers and refused to refund the $100 I paid. I have just been able to fix the phone at Mobile Tech, Prudential Center, 800 Bolston Street, Boston MA. I discovered that uBreakiFix had destroyed the flexible conectors to the fold screen so I had to change the screen and both batteries for $800. So, a $30 dollars service has cost me $900. I insisted on fixing the phone because it accepts 2 physical SIM cards and still allows for e-SIMs for when I travel abroad. uBreakiFix must have forcefully opened the phone and in the process destroyed the flex connectors in the phone, thus, destroying the inner fold screen. They did not know how to open the phone, how will they be able to fix it. So uBreakiFix...
