I decided to give this place a try because their grand opening specials enticed me and it’s also near my school. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. I guess they have free beverages like boba so that’s really nice! But some key issues with the service: I got a full set with gel and that was $55. No design, no manicure etc. Both mine and my friend’s nail tech took forever. My nail tech had to use a template to shape my coffin nails and she took an hour just shaping. After that, my original idea was to have a different color for each nail since I saw a fall inspo for it and when it came time to pick polish, she just gave me a color book and told me to pick and didn’t try to help me pick any of the colors. So I was not only frustrated with that but it had also been over an hour since we started and I had other appointments so I told her Ill just do one color and she said “that’s better”. She then proceeded to literally paint and cure one nail at a time on each hand and I’ve never seen that. Not to mention she had to use acetone after every single polish application. Every single one. Overall very inefficient and after the hour and 40 minutes of that, my middle finger on the left hand still looks like wonky. She also didnt cut my cuticles. When paying I had a $10 voucher to use and they advertised automatic 10% off cash payments but I could literally hear them say in Vietnamese not to add the 10% or tell me about it when I paid in cash. Been living in Boulder for 8-9 months. I had been planning to find a salon but nowhere stood out to me. I happened to be searching on Google Maps again for nail salon and I found Planet Nails. It was very easy to call and make an appointment. I showed up to the salon and checked in. Very impressed with the salon and the staff members. The deluxe bubble bath pedicure felt so amazing. Hot stones, scrub, lotion… the best pedicure experience I have had. This is my first set of acrylic nails anywhere. I went with the pink white acrylics. I love them so much that I can’t stop looking at them. Thank you, Jenny! She is so nice and welcoming. All the staff members were very attentive and constantly checking in with me to make sure I was comfortable and that I liked how the process was going. I even received a Boba tea which was delicious. And I got to sit back to get a little massage from the chair while watching a movie on the TV. I am so glad I found this salon. I plan to be a long-term customer for years to come. I went here with a friend last week since the reviews were so good- unfortunately, I have to give one star. We had an appointment and waited about 20 minutes after that time, which is fine. The tech I had for my acrylic nails kept taking walk ins and phone reservations the entire time I was getting my nails done, so it definitely felt rushed. My tech didn’t file down or shape my natural nails at all before putting on tons of glue for the tips, and I had a reference photo to show the nails I wanted. There was tonss of glue under my nails as well as my natural nails poking through the back of the acrylics and the acrylic application itself with the French tips was so that was so so thick and uneven. My hands went under the UV lamp probably ten times each and the French tips were definitely not even. Really wanted to like this place since the techs seemed really nice but the rushed/ overpriced experience and the lack of decent technique was unfortunate.
