This will be lengthy but worth reading
This experience was so memorable and NOT for good reason.
Recently, May 26th 2025, my husband and I were mattress shopping for one of our children's beds. When people say check reviews on places prior to visiting them, I understand completely after having had this experience. I will take partial responsibility for not having done so beforehand. I walked into the mattress store with my 8 year old son to purchase a full size mattress. What options they had were not reasonably priced in comparison to the location we just came from. We had just left the mattress firm across the street where they were offering a name brand mattress, full size, for $350. Unfortunately, they did not have our bed size in stock leading us to the next mattress location, Bedding Barn. A gentleman kindly greeted both my son and I, introduced himself and asked my sons name. I introduced myself as well. Upon discussing some mattress options, he walked us over to a specific mattress with a Serta foot rest labeled on the bottom of the mattress. We encouraged my son to lay down and try out this mattress. The price for this was 699.99. I thought this seemed quite steep. However, he offered to include a Serta box for a value of 250$ for just the price of the mattress. It was 2 Serta pillows, 2 pillow cases, a fitted sheet, and sheet set. Honestly, I figured this was not a terrible deal since I was purchasing a Serta mattress and getting Serta items with the price. In any other case, I would have spent relatively around the same amount of money anyway, purchasing a mattress elsewhere and having to get the sheets as well. No problem. We opted to lay on two other beds nearby that my son did not have interest in. The other beds footrest were labeled whatever brand that mattress was. We proceed to check out my total came to 748.99. My husband met us at the location and picked up the mattress during the transaction being concluded. We drove home, scooted the mattress into our garage and left to eat dinner and meet our friends for a kid play date. We did not return home until after Bedding Barn was closed around 8pm. We carried the mattress upstairs. We unwrap the plastic to find this IS NOT THE SERTA mattress we just paid for. It wasn't a Serta at all. This mattress was a Sutherland brand mattress valued brand new at $199.99. How could this be? I was given a Serta box to make it appear it was a Serta mattress that was purchased as well as not to mention the Serta tag that was on the mattress during our visit. The very next day I went back to bedding barn and was greeted by the same individual who assisted us the day before. He asked me how everything went with the mattress and I expressed to him that I was very disgruntled and confused. I walked over to the bed, with the Serta foot rest still intact, and looked at the other bed footing. If the mattress was a certain brand, thats the brand that was labeled on the foot rest. However, in this particular mattress the foot rest said Serta, was given Serta products to go with a.... Sutherland bed. I was pretty disgusted to see the how misleading this could have been. And expressed how frustrating it was that as a salesman he didn't disclose or participate this information. Upon further investigating the mattress they sold me was an outdated Sutherland mattress. It still was not the same one from the Salesforce. Regardless if I made the error or the misleading serta footrest wasn't part of the sales pitch and just a tactical way to get more money from someone, it still wasn't even the same mattress. I was completely floored at this point. I felt that I had been swindled. He complimented our family the day before about how nice we were as a family and after having revealed their dishonest salesmanship he said well I really thought you were such a nice family. As to implicate we were no longer because we caught on to their deceit. I was given a credit immediately, which I will say was appreciated. I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE...
Read moreIf I could give this store a -1 star I would. I went to Bedding Barn thinking I was helping a local business as I know it has been there for a long time. What a mistake this was. The salesman sold me on a mattress that he said was " a really great deal" and that it was "the last one they had". I paid cash for the mattress which was $1,399.95 (pre tax and delivery). Within days we realized the mattress was terrible and causing us immense back and neck pain. We contacted Bedding Barn and told them we would like to exchange the mattress. We were told we had to wait 90 days. Throughout the next few months we made 5 additional phone calls to Bedding Barn. My husband and I have not slept in the same bed for months, I have been unable to do physical activities I once enjoyed because I am in constant pain. Each time we called we were told the same thing, "You have to wait 90 days." So today, after the 90 day mark I arrived at Bedding Barn at 9:00am which is the time their business cards and Google listing states is open time. No one was there. I came back at 10am and was met by George. I explained to him my situation and he pointed out some firmer mattresses that I may like better. I explained to George I did not want to spend anymore money other than their $100 restocking fee and $35. My options were either cheaper, less in quality where I would not get my additional money back or a mattress I would have to spend an additional $400 or more to swap with. George contact "his boss" by telephone and I was told there was nothing else that could be done. I google searched the mattress they were trying to tell me was $1700 only to find it listed at other retailers for $850. When I tried to show this to George I was told "We don't compare prices here with other stores". Bedding Barn literally advertises themselves as a discount bedding store and they are trying to sell me a second over priced bed for even more money. I left the store without resolution and had to go back home to a mattress that is causing multiple issues within my house. BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM...
Read moreUsed car salesman would be a polite description of anyone of the scumbags that work at the Bedding Barn in Boynton Beach. Yes, I was stupid enough to buy the b.s. upfront. Yes, I couldn't turn down the well priced memory foam. Yes, I allowed the whole "I'm going to have to sell my kid's leg to give you this price," routine. In retrospect, you know the whole hindsight 20/20 thing, I bought into a very manipulative sales scheme for a decent deal. After being assured that a straight up return was no issue, and that any issues within the first month would be corrected on spot, I walked out with a bed and a receipt that did not state the latter. Now 2 weeks later I am having trouble with the box springs, and need to swap for bunkie boards (memory foam support). Not only am I being charged a mandatory/excessive (regardless if I can return them safe/sound) delivery fee,but I am being given a serious attitude for even suggesting that I could make the mile and a half return on my own. There was a fundamental shift, a flip of the switch if you will, the minute I handed over my credit. I had a storeroom full of guys willing to climb a mountain to get me to make my purchase at Bedding Barn, and the minute I did so I had a team of bullies fully prepared to berate and downgrade every request I've made. Unfortunately, for lack of better verbiage, the best description of their current line of tactics would be "pigeon holing." Every move I make is bested by their ability to charge me for it and leave me without option. This nonsense would make phenomenal training material...
