Today, Lego has a make and take event to build a free Harry Potter Butterbeer Truck set. We waited in line and when it was our turn, we were told it was for kids only. Which is fine, we just went to a couple of these events in the past and there were no age restrictions. However, the attitude that the sales associate today gave us made us very uncomfortable. It almost felt like he was guilt-tripping us when he told us “This is for kids only. You can have one, but you’ll be taking away from the kids behind you in line.” I’m sorry but is this a food pantry? Legos has always been for all ages. We understand if there is a age restriction for this specific event, but is it really that hard to just politely reject us instead of making us seem like we robbed kids of their dreams. We waited in line for 30 mins and a different sales associate even came by multiple times to check on the line and never said anything about this event being for kids only. Not only did we waste our time, but we felt embarrassed by this treatment and devalued as customers. This kind of treatment really changed how we view this...

Pick your own Brick experiences were fun and consistent with employees saying as long as the flap went over enough reasonably for them to tape there were no issues. This time employees were rude and said that wasn’t the rules. When I explained about my past two shopping experiences there within the last two months but I was willing to comply the cashier went and sought out their manager who was abrasively rude for no reason and in a sorts trying to embarrass me in front of the whole store by talking at me loudly so other patrons stared at me and my son felt overwhelmed by the managers actions by making him feel like he did something wrong with his filling up his box when his other experiences had been different and his large box size matched his past actions. The box lid was reasonably closing over more than half of its contents. Not sure what the motivations were but this store venture was unpleasant and not very customer friendly. How this was handle...
Read moreWhat makes this store amazing is its staff. They are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to old & new sets. Look for Lindsey (she is a sweetheart, extremely helpful) or John (he has an incredible memory especially on older sets that retire long ago). All the others that have helped us so far have also been great. The store has been recently redesigned and offers play areas where you can get creative and build something while your kid chooses (or vice-versa), a custom minifugres building station (one of our favorites things to get there) and it is stocked up to the ceiling. Every month tbey have a mini build event where you can enroll in advance through the Lego website and show up (kids only) to build a free set. They also have other events such as a minifigure swap and other cool stuff besides just plain old Lego sets. We go back often and if you're unlucky to not find what you're looking for there, make sure to ask their staff, they will tell you where you can find anything Lego related...
