I live here part time and Florida the other part. This store is smaller than the one in Florida which is probably why they have less employees which is probably why you cant find help when looking for something. When I did find help the other day this person couldn't find it in the computer then another employee showed up finds it right away and says oh that's not released until tomorrow. We will have 6 copies of that tomorrow. Ok I'll be back tomorrow. I come back the next day. There were people at the register looking around asking where the help was. A lady went looking for someone to check them out and to help the other people. She brings back the same person from the day before who couldnt find what I was looking for the previous day. When it was my turn I said I'm back. I was the one yesterday looking for this book. Without looking they say Oh they could of came in but it usually takes a week to put them out on the shelves. Huh? So they're not out to purchase? Yeah come back in a week. Huh? Seriuosly? What's the purpose of a release date? I did snicker out of disbelief and then asked about 2 other books, oh yes we have a copy of each they would be in those sections over there. Points to over yonder then turns to speak to, a friend? Spent 15 minutes in each section looking for these books. I gave up. Went back up front no one in sight. Waited for 5 minutes threw the 3 other books I was going to purchase down and walked out. Everytime I come to this store which isn't very often same service. I stopped at walmart next door for something and thought hey stop in their book section. The book I wanted was right up front where the other new releases were. ...
Read moreI recently visited the Books-A-Million in Branson, MO, and had a great experience. From the moment I walked in, I was drawn into the cozy, inviting atmosphere, with rows of books that seemed to stretch on forever. As a book lover, it was nice to see such a broad selection, from popular bestsellers to more niche genres, all well-organized and easy to browse.
One of the highlights was the friendly and knowledgeable staff. I asked an associate for recommendations on historical fiction, and she didn’t just point me in the right direction—she gave me some genuine suggestions based on her own reading and even recommended a few titles that turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. It was clear that she knew the store well and had a real passion for books, which made the whole experience feel more personal.
I also enjoyed their small café. I picked up a coffee, found a seat, and flipped through a couple of books before deciding what to buy. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the café added a nice touch, making it a comfortable spot to spend some time.
Overall, my visit to Books-A-Million in Branson was enjoyable. Between the helpful staff, the broad selection, and the cozy feel, I’ll definitely be back next time...
Read moreI wanna first prefice by saying that this will be me venting about the coffee shop inside Books-A-Million not the store itself. However that said I gotta say that coffee shop was not a friendly place. So I was there to pick up some manga and my Mom wanted coffee, again Books-A-Million itself is fine, good service good selection (4.5), but the when my mom b-lined it for the coffee counter the person working it turned off the lights. My Mom still hopeful goes up and asks what time they close, the person working the counter shortly replied that they close at 7:30 (the time my Mom walked in) and then left. To set the scene a bit more the machines were still on and there was a person at the counter to make my Mom the coffee that she had a free certificate for from our visit to this same store the day prior so this was kinda upsetting for her. This is a very first world problem and nothing earth shattering by any means but this put a damper on my Moms night and that can't be forgiven, you fellow lads can understand that. So I give her a 3/5, I'd say the coffee was good but I...
