IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS COMMENT: "The owner had a hard time shaping it the way it was because it wasn't any particular shape, so she rounded it." - statement made by the AJ Nail Salon under my review which says it all. The original tech did a poor job shaping my nails and then the owner did whatever was convenient for her just to do something and get me out. To me that is very unprofessional. In their response, they try to shift the blame on me or my nails as you can read below, instead of owning up to what they did. No apology for damaging my nails was ever made. Please note even according to your comment, your tech realized how thin my nails got AFTER she shaved the gel off. She never said anything to me or apologized when she saw what happened. She just continued. Yes, I did prefer a refund over you trying to fix my nails simply due to the damage that was done during my last appointment. ALSO - There are many other reviews that are very similar to mine... are we all wrong? THERE ARE MANY NAIL SALONS IN THE AREA! STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I got gel manicure and pedicure done 7 days ago. Within the first 2-3 days my nails started breaking and the nail polish started chipping A LOT. By day 5 my nails looked awful... For reference - I don't get my nails done often. I got a gel manicure only once this year (somewhere else!) and they did an amazing job. With that being said, when I came in to AJ Elite Nails and Spa, my nails were not damaged at all. Unfortunately I left their salon with the thinest nails I have ever had and a bleeding finger. I went back yesterday (6 days from my appointment) and asked for a refund for my manicure - which I have never done before! I just felt it was fair since the nails did not last at all and they were severely damaged during my manicure. I was told by the owner they don't do refunds but they'll fix it. I tried to explain that the lady that did my manicure had shaved my nails so much that I was just hoping to get a refund and go somewhere else to take everything off and put some kind of treatment on my nails. I was told no. The owner insisted she will fix it. She sat me down and sent one of the employees to fix my nails. She asked what color I would like. I picked the 1st color I saw on the pallet she showed me that looked okay. The owner came over right away and told me if I want to change color she would charge me for my set. I told her I didn't want to change the color. I originally came for a refund but since they insisted on fixing the issue I just answered the technician's question as to what color I liked. I didn't care if they changed it or kept it the same. I was told that they will only fix the 3 nails that were broken and had polish chipped off. The owner located the color that I originally had, took over and did 3 acrylic nails to fix them... I didn't want the acrylics. They are very damaging to nails (and after my last appointment my nails were already in poor shape!) but by the time I realized that's what she was doing it was too late to speak up. She sent another lady to paint them. That particular person did a very good job and you can tell she was actually trying to make this right. Unfortunately today the gel polish from another nail is coming off... I won't be going back because I don't have time to drive up there every day to fix a nail or two at a time. I went in yesterday to give them a chance to make this right, because I understand that sometimes mistakes happen. Unfortunately I was treated like a Karen (even though I tried to be as nice and polite as possible). No one ever apologized for what happened and acted like they were doing me a favor... I politely said thank you and left. I won't be back again and the only reason I am leaving this review is to share my experience others. From what I am reading here, I am not the only one dissapointed with their services. Gel nails should last at least 2 weeks (as AJ Nail salon advertises on their list of services). Unfortunately mine didn't even last 3 days...

Read moreNo matter how many times I have gone there - have never been treated like a regular customer. Always seems be an issue whether you have an appointment or not as to who wants to take you. I stopped going for a long time and have returned there for 5 months but again same thing - most recently was treated so very rudely by Tom - he took my acrylics off as I wanted to do gel mani for a while - I pretty much have just dealt with Tom being unfriendly or helpful - I'm not there to chat that much anyway but pleasantries and customer service are important. The owner Michael has also never treated me as a regular customer either no matter how many times he sees me. Danny has been friendly and Teela who does answer phones and talk people is customer service friendly and helpful. I chose a color for my manicure and immediately told her that wasn't right color - she wouldn't respond - just kept going - TOM sat right next and heard me say many times over - it's not right - too neon, can't wear that to work - it was orange and I had picked Pink - the girl who was having her nails done also commented - I said I don't think I can deal with this for 2 weeks - she wouldn't offer take off - she went got another color put it over - which was Pink but not what I wanted and with that many coats completely thick and looked trashy!!!! - very unhappy when I left. I called the next morning fortunately spoke with Teela - said I was in yesterday and this manicure was so bad, polish thick not color etc - she said come in during certain times and there would be no charge -fix it. When I arrived and she seated me - Tom immediately just wanted argue tell me it would be $15 - when I explained I had called and that he knew it wasn't right less than 24 hrs earlier as he witnessed the entire thing - he was beyond rude to me, everyone heard him - the girl he was doing looked at me shocked - telling me that I had picked color and to come back next day it was a $15 charge - no exceptions - I understand a fee if you just want the color changed - but this had been an issue from the onset - Teela stepped over and said I'm sorry and that she would take care of me. She couldn't believe it either as well as agreed how bad the polish job was so thick looked awful and should have been taken care of at the initial appointment. I work in the professional market and there was no way that I could have worked with nails looking like that - Highly disappointed - while they have upgraded the salon and have new seating and pedicure chairs - they need to upgrade their professionalism and customer service skills as well - Would not recommend to anyone even though it is conveniently located and easy to park. They should be appreciative of having Teela and how she relates, welcomes and helps...
Read moreDO NOT COME HERE!!! I had the WORST experience I’ve ever had at AJ Elite Nails. TONY gave me a very cute Christmas gel manicure. Unfortunately, the very next day two nails were already peeling away. The paint was not sticking to my nails. He didn’t buff them and prep them correctly before painting them. I was disappointed and I went back to have him fix them. You can tell he was very upset to have to fix them and at one point he slammed his hand on the drying light as a way to tell me to give him my hand. He didn’t apologize that I had to come back and was very openly annoyed I wanted them fixed. I went home afterwards and within a few hours two more (different) nails were peeling away. I was upset, and didn’t want to have to go back up there and I didn’t want to deal with TONY’s bad attitude. I called to just get my money back and they refused to refund my money. They said if I came back in a THIRD time they would refund $10 and fix the nails. So, I went back, again, thinking they were going to fix them right this time. TONY walked in CUSSING AND YELLING AT ME, accused me of sitting at home purposely chipping off my nails so that I would have to keep coming up there and have him fix them.!!!(Like I have nothing better to do?) I looked at the “owner” and said can I please have someone else fix my nails? She said no, it has to be TONY. TONY was still yelling at me and no one was helping me. Everyone was standing around and watching him ridicule me and yell at me while I was being treated like a dog. I left very upset without my nails fixed and without a refund. My husband was in the car and went in to talk to the “manager” (who said she was the “owner” to me before) and she offered to fix JUST the two nails that were messed up (instead of re-doing all of them correctly). I took what I could get and got the hell out of there as fast as I could. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!! No one apologized to me for my terrible experience or the bad nail job. DO NOT COME HERE TO GET YOUR NAILS DONE!! They don’t stand by their work, they don’t want to make it right, they lie about who the “owner” or “manager” is, they don’t care about the customers, they make you feel like dirt and treat you like a dog. What should’ve been a great experience (a Christmas present from my husband) ended up being a nightmare with...
