Petco — Local services in Branson

First off the store is very clean and well stocked. That being said I was very disappointed at the way they do busness My son had wanted to order some freshwater crabs for his fish tank and they were "so helpful" in making that happen they gave me a week before the crabs came in I called several times to ask if they showed up yet it took an extra week for them to get their (mailing is not their fault I wont put that on them) but I was told after calling for the 4th time that I should leave my number and an associate would call me when the crabs came in I waited and waited and waited and I received no such call so finally I called them and found out the crabs had come in 4 days earlier asked the associate how many crabs were left she said there was plenty we immediately left and drove up to Branson to get the crabs and when we got there there were only 2 left and one of them was dead in the tank extremely disappointed that we had to go through all that for 1 crab when the only reason the crabs were there in the 1st place (as it was not a regularly stocked item) was because we ordered them and they could not follow through and got annoyed with us repeatedly calling, promised to call us when they came in and then never did. Not to mention there was hardly anything left when my kid got there for his crabs, that he specifically ordered. To say that I was disgusted is an understatement. The way they keep their animals is an act of ignorance and abuse. The way these animals are kept is absolutely unacceptable! This is gonna be a long review so prepare yourself. 1. The reptiles. I went over to their tiny reptile section and literally almost broke down because of how bad these animals were kept. Their were 20 leopard geckos in one enclosure, leopard geckos are solitary animals that shouldn't be cohabitated. They also had only 2 hides when they need 3 on minimum. The substrate was very improper, it was sand and they need a mix of top soil and play sand. A few of the bearded dragons looked sick and emaciated. The chameleons humidity was very low and one was in shed therefore it needed to be higher to help with shedding. 2. The mammals. The guinea pigs were kept in tiny improper enclosures and had hardly any room to move around. Some seemed to be aggressive if one would come close to it. The hamsters literally couldn't burrow and were scratching at the side of the enclosure in an attempt to burrow and file their teeth. One of the birds had clipped wings and couldn't move around very well. I am sickened with the way this petco kept...

I usually dont fill out reviews. But my experience today really stood out from a customers perspective. I had some problems with a couple fish and they were more than happy to correct the situation no questions asked. The lady in the fish department was SO helpful. I didn't happen to catch her name but she was about 5'6", dark brown hair in a pony tail. She seemed as though she had alot of experience with fish and she took very good care of the ones in the store. She was very knowledgeable and knew the best answer to every question I had. She showed me how to set up my bubble stones and was so understanding. She made sure we left with every piece of information we needed as well as other customers. She was my saving Grace! I will continue to go back when she is working and hopefully catch her name next time. A HUGE thank you to her. Update: Her name is Rachel! She is so helpful. Again today, she saved me!
