I recently brought my phone 7 to the Tinley Park IL location to have the Taptic Engine replaced. When I picked up the phone the vibrate feature on the phone was extremely soft. When I questioned that the salesman said that was normal for the phone. When I left the store I started testing the phone to ensure it was repaired. It was not. I called the store 15 minutes after I left to inform them that the vibrate feature was not properly functioning. The associate who answered the phone replied "Well I'm the guy who fixed it and It worked fine." I brought my phone back in the following day to have someone look at it. They were busy so I left the phone with them and returned after work to pick it up. When I came to pick up the phone an associate told me that they tried multiple Taptic engines and they were unable to fix my phone. They put the original part back in the phone and we're going to charge me $30 for the repair associates time. When they handed me my phone the screen was raised and there were scratches on the phone all around the screen. I pointed the scratches out and explained that those were not there when I dropped off the phone. The associate went to talk to the manager who did not come out to talk to me. The associate came back and said that there was nothing they would do about that. After requesting some resolution to the scratches multiple times the manager finally came out to speak to me. When I pointed out my concerns he simply responded "That's just normal wear and tear. " I told him that the phone was not in that condition when I dropped it off. He then went to talk to the repair associate who stated "He obviously just wants a free phone." The manager then came back and again stated that it was normal wear and tear and they did not damage the phone. I explained that the associate who took my phone did a thorough check in process and the phone was not in that condition when I dropped it off. The manager then looks at the phone and says "What's the big deal you can't even see it when the case is on." I responded by stating that I was not ok with the condition of the phone. He then stated " Actually It was probably caused by the case." I then noticed that the touch screen was not working. The manager took the phone back to the repair associate who did a hard reset on the phone. The manager told me that there was nothing wrong with the screen it just needed to be reset. At that point I knew that I was getting nowhere with the manager. I took the phone and I drove directly to Apple. The Apple associate immediately pointed out the scratches and the fact that the screen was raised up and not set properly. Additionally he pointed out discoloration near the bottom of the screen. Apple said that the scratches appeared to be from someone prying at the screen. The screen had been improperly inserted back on the phone and was damaged and needed to be replaced. Apple was also able to replace the taptic engine with no issues. I recommend that no one bring their phone to batteries plus for repair unless you're willing to pay someone else to fix what they break. To make matters worse I emailed corporate who told me that the store manager would reach out to me and no one has followed up. No wonder why the staff doesn't care. It starts...
Read moreWARNING!!! Don't trust this people! I brought my son phone in on Saturday, Oct 7th to repair a cracked screen. They were very fast and prompt. They called me back within an hour to tell my that my son's phone was ready. I was at first a satisfied customer. By Sunday, Oct 8th ( the next day); my son phone begin at act up with blacking out. I then took my son's phone back in on Monday, Oct 9th and they told my that it had something to do with the LCD so they then replaced that. After picking it back up on Oct 9th, the phone worked not even for a full two days before it stop charging and overheating. I took it back Wednesday, Oct 11th. They called me and told me that the battery was bad and that I would get a discount on battery replacement. I said sure! I called them Wednesday evening to let them know I was on my way to pick up phone and they said to hold on because although they replaced the battery, the phone still wasn't charging so they would have to call me back after they figure out what was wrong. They called me back on Thursday, Oct 12th to tell me that it was also my charge port that went bad. So at this point, I'm thinking I should have just filed a claim with with my insurance but I said to go ahead and fix it. I go to pick my phone up Thursday evening (because they told me it was ready) and when I get there, they said wait, I have to call the tech and the store manager because the phone would not turn on. At this point, I'm livid because of the time, effort, and money that I've already invested. WAIT FOR THIS!!! The store manager calls me back on Friday, Oct 13th to tell me that the phone I brought in Saturday was a different phone then the phone they had because they had two different serial numbers. In other words, accusing me of trying to scam them!!!! I could not believe it! My son has only ONE cell phone and these crooks did something on their end and tried to blame me. Not only did they BREAK my son's phone, they charged me for it, and they wanted me to pay an additional 200 dollars to retrieve my son's phone that no longer works. I brought my son ONE phone in to get a screen repair and ended up with a phone that no longer works and basically being called a criminal. Do these people really think that I would waste all my time, effort, and MONEY if I already had the phone that was fixed??? Unbelievable horrible experience. I had to get my husband involved and he was able to retrieve my son's phone without paying any additional money. I WANT A REFUND for 100 dollars I had already paid them!!! DON"T MESS WITH...
Read moreAfter purchasing batteries online with my boss’s credit card I found out that she had to be the one to pick them up. They wouldn't even credit her card for the core charge that wasn't suppose to appear on the card! They wouldn’t even give it to me in cash! My boss doesn't live anywhere near the store, it would be impossible for her to pick up the batteries in a timely manner. As these batteries were used for an emergency lighting system it was imperative we get these batteries ASAP! After speaking to several different Battery Plus employee’s we convinced them to let me pick the batteries up. Once there I found they didn’t have the brand I ordered and there was an up-charge! After complaining they decided to wave the additional cost however, they still have the $27 core charge, and yes they have the old batteries! If they had explained this to me prior to making the purchase I could have made other arrangements. This exchange was not handled very professionally at all! Unfortunately for Battery Plus I have several more large battery purchases to make and you can bet it won’t be with them! P.S. I don't blame the store or it's employee's, this was company policy. The employee's did what they could to make the exchange as forgivable...
