Chuck E. Cheese — Restaurant in Orland Township

This weekend I had the excitement of celebrating my son's third birthday unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the place. First of all, the area was setup for the five kids that were at my son's party not putting into consideration the number of adults that would also be present at the party. Second, they were out of the helium balloons, and I was supposed to get nine with the package I purchased. I was not informed or get an email to inform me that there are no balloons; if so, I would’ve picked up some myself. Third of the all and most important, where is the show?! McDonalds offers the same thing for a birthday party for a cheaper rate and even they provide some kind of a character or the associates create a team to come out for the kids. The whole point of me having the party there for the show. It is in the title on your website under Kid's Birthday Parties. They advertise Birthday Games & Entertainment, but where is the entertainment?? IF the case is that it isn't offered anymore or not a part of the experience, then it should have been brought up before the party or should've mentioned it on the website. The show is iconic for those who grew up with Chuck E. Cheese to the point that it apparently made news when looked up. Yet it wasn't explained that there wouldn't be a show? They only had Chuckee come out, waved at the kids, took some picture and that was IT. I was very disappointed. I gave one star because the server was super nice and the pizza was good. Other services at the place was horrible and over priced based on what we received. It took forever to cash our tickets and someone to service us at the counter to exchange the tickets. They also had a broken cotton candy machine. In fact, maybe not broken, but the staff were lazy to use it because it had the ingredients on the side of the counter. We could have came on our own for a less expensive price and gotten the same experience we did as booking a "birthday party". There wasn't much of a party that was offered other than a seating area, a surprise guest, and a shared gaming experience...

I booked my daughter party on November 12th for the day of November 28th. On the 27th I received the phone call (less than 24 hours) that the place was under construction but everything shouldn't affect the party. When we got there it was a complete disaster the stage was no longer there and the party was being held in the construction zone. There were crates everywhere and nails and screws on the table that the employees never moved. Thankfully we were able to keep a good eye on the kids. I made the host aware that this was not cool at all. After my child gets out of the ticket booth the host asked me to check my email for my receipt. She stands by me very invasive as I open my email. She then ask me to complete the survey. I tell her I'll complete it later. she becomes more aggressive telling me it'll only take 2 minutes. she was trying to force me to give a 10 on the survey and hit the submit button. I had to ask her to please leave me disaster from the beginning to the end this location needs to be SHUT DOWN. The food was ok but the manager took toppings from the salad bar that the public had been digging in and breathing on to add to the pizzas people ordered. I'm sure the health inspector wouldn't be happy about this. As we're leaving the guy at the front stand says he doesn't like kids. People are trusting that you will check to make sure they're kids are leaving with the right people and you have the nerve to let that slip out of your mouth. The young Hispanic lady that worked the ticket booth was very nice and helped the kids pick prizes . But if this was my business I would terminate everyone that worked November...

Overall the staff was extremely rude! We paid for a party and they harassed us the entire time we paid for. The host even lit our birthday candles before we were even back to the table. I had to blow them out and relight them once our party gathered back to the table. We were only one hour into our 2 hour window at this point. Next the host was harassing me for a review along with the possible “manager” Yoanna or Yo Yo. Then about 15 min at the end of our party time slot they started rushing us out the area and we told her we were packing up to another table. Then as we’re we’re going to our new tables they threw all of our plates and decor away before we got a chance to collect them in addition to our salad plates. Finally we visited the salad bar and was told the plate was not correct and we explained our original was thrown away b4 we can collect it. The “manager” “yoanna or yo yo” proceeded to Snatch the plate out of our guests hand and then immediately called security when she was being the aggressor. Once we spoke with security we let them know we paid for salads they understood and gave us a new plate which “yo yo” could’ve done from the beginning!! She didn’t even ask!! We’ve been here many times b4 and no issues! This time We felt like we were being racially discriminated against on top of everything and due to all of these we will never be returning to this establishment. And we would advise others not to attend either especially if you are African American. Zero stars on...
