This place is actually a great place to shop. That is....if u aren't looking for Aldi type pricing. They are more in line with Jewel. But? With that comes excellent service and up market branding. The store is very clean and laid out well. You won't walk in circles here just trying to find bread crumbs. And if u have to ask? Associates are easy to find. ... happy to help. The produce is actually fairly fresh and a 'sale' is actually a sale. Watch the clearance shelving. If there is anything on it s way to being expired? That? Is where u will find it. At prices so very low? They will drop your jaw to the floor. Though I have to say that over the past year or so? The selections of red meat have dropped significantly. Still the same quality. Just don't expect to find a large selection of Grrill ready Porterhouse Steaks for u to choose from. Not on a Sunday afternoon. Not anymore. Quality is their game. Not quantity. Not anymore. Which is a shame. Update: no major changes here. In the earlier post it may have seemed I put quantity of quality. Not so. Not at all. I d love to see both. It seems that? Is hard to get anymore. But? They do still carry many of the upscale brands that other local grocers don't. I can still get my Silk Vanilla there. And Pepperidge Farms and Torano breads. Biscotti. Flan...Pomegranate that s still juicy. U see what I m saying. So? Neighborhood grocer? Yah. Kinda sort of. Gourmet? Ehhhhh.....in a small way. Privately owned store...
Read moreI've never been to this store but maybe once, but needed a quick hot item for my pot luck coworkers party and on such a short notice this store was able to make me some quick Mac n Cheese. I paid 30 dollars for a half pan, but when I got it to work I opened it and it was so skimpy and the taste was horrible, plain no seasoning, just like they put a glob of dipping sauce in it, horrible, I was very disappointed. It was the labor day Sunday afternoon and nothing else was available. So I called the store and talked to a very rude woman I guess she was over the deli area, I told her what I had purchased and asked her where was the rest of the Mac and cheese so skimpy, her reply was, that's how we make it's one bag that's a half pan very nasty attitude, she should find another job cause customer service is not for her. Well I told her ok well y'all need to find away to make it better people spending money for quality not just anything you serve to customers, I will not ever buy from this store again especially in the deli hot food area, now maybe other items may be better but the Mac n Cheese is definitely a No No for me. And find that bad attitude woman a new position cause this one is...
Read moreWe ordered 3 of 2 1/2lbs boneless BBQ chicken wings. What we got was BBQ chicken tenders. Was told that's how the wings are now. Ordered 24 count mini sandwiches with mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce and tomato on the side, was told we don't give packets of mayo or mustard Eventhough you requested it. And the lettuce and tomato was on the sandwiches. Ordered full Pan of Mac And cheese. What we got was a thin layer of Mac and cheese in a full size pan. Our 100 pieces of chicken and half pan of chicken TENDERS was good, (I sure didn't need 71/2lbs of BBQ tenders). Our FULL pan of mashed potatoes also good. I've ordered from Berkots many times. This was my worst experience. The cook was very polite. The counter girl, very rude. It's Christmas, I understand the stress the staff are under I try to treat people the way I want to be treated, however once you give me an attitude expect to get one in return. I will be looking for another place to cater from. I spent over $250.00 couldn't get mayo and mustard packets or even some mayo and mustard in a small bowel. Nor could we get "boneless wings" come on Berkots. If you ran out of wings just say so. Don't try to push off a...
