After years of hard work, folks, it's here. Ample street parking (or a nice walk if you're lucky to be close) and you will find yourself in a little mecca of fresh, local, organic, sustainable foods and other products. The produce is ample and beautiful, the bulk section is generous with room to expand, and the local options are lovely.
We went on opening day with our minds wide open. This is going to grow from a wonderful thing to an essential part of the community food chain soon.

I never feel welcome at the co-op on Park avenue. They always assume that I am not a member. They never ask if I am a member when I'm at the checkout. I paid $200 for my membership. They are unfriendly, cold, distant. They have the highest prices in all of Western Washington. They were especially rude to me the last time I was there. Read moreProduce is of mediocre quality. Many items were going bad. I saw rotten mangoes being sold for a hefty price. I needed something for cooking and had to get semi-rotten cilantro for $3, of which I could probably only use a third of the bunch. The store clerk was extremely rude when I pointed it out that it was going bad and asked for a discount.
