I never leave Google reviews, but my experience at Fritz Fry House on March 28th was one of the worst I've ever had. At 10:59 AM, I called to order two burgers for dine-in. Halfway through my order, I asked for more information on a specific item, and the employee abruptly said they were getting very busy and that I should just come in. Then, shockingly, they hung up on me mid-call, which lasted almost two minutes! (I have attached the official call record)
I called back using the same number, but there was no answer. So, I used a different phone to call the restaurant, and the same rude employee answered again. This call was brief as well; after I asked if they had hung up on me, they confirmed, “Yes, we got really busy,” and then ended the call again.
This kind of behavior is unacceptable for anyone in customer service, especially in a restaurant setting. My last experience here was amazing, but after this incident, I will never return. Instead, I went to Mezcalitos Mexican Restaurant. Today, Fritz Fry House lost my business, my trust, and any chance of positive word-of-mouth from me to my friends and fellow shipyard employees.
I should be rating their food, not the awful order experience. If you can’t handle phone orders, don’t advertise that you do! I hope this situation is...
Read moreDisappointing Fish and Chips Experience at Fritz Fry House
I recently visited Fritz Fry House with the expectation of enjoying a classic fish and chips meal, but I was let down by both the service and the food quality. To my dismay, they had run out of tartar sauce, an essential condiment that complements the dish. This was the first red flag. Upon being offering alternate options for sause I was informed that those too were out of stock, finally I settle for ketchup, but that they couldn't even manage that. I had even called ahead to place the order but after 8 tries I gave up. This was the second red flag.
The main issue, however, was with the fish and chips themselves. The fish was overcooked to the point of losing its natural flavor and moisture, making it tough and chewy rather than flaky and succulent as one would expect from a well-prepared fish. The chips were not any better; they were over-fried, lacking the soft interior that balances out the crispy exterior.
A good fish and chips meal is a symphony of textures and flavors, but what I got was a one-note disappointment. I hope Fritz Fry House takes this feedback seriously and improves their food preparation and inventory management to ensure no other customer has to face such an...
Read moreThey claim on their signs outside and inside the restaurant to serve authentic Belgian fries. Until a few years ago, they actually did. Now, not anymore. There would be no problem if they simply claimed to serve some kind of fries, but they should stop claiming that they are serving Belgian fries, because these things are definitely not Belgian fries. It's very simple really: Belgian fries do NOT under any circumstance have the potato peel attached (I know it's easier and faster to not peel the potatoes, but sorry then they are no longer Belgian fries) and they are fried twice to a golden brown color, a bit crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Fritz's fries have gone downhill in quality fast and they are nothing like that anymore. I used to drive 2 hours to get a cone there; now I made a short detour when I was in the area and I regretted even the 10 minutes of extra driving.
Please bring back real Belgian fries. No skin, golden color, etc. Just google it and look at the images (the ones from Belgian frites places, not from other American places that also are too lazy to remove the skins). Or else, just be honest and remove the signs that say you serve...
