On my first visit to this place, I was literally refused a drinking glass from the CEO of this place. He said he could only offer a plastic cup because people break glasses. I stood there very frustrated, then a lady came forth and was offered a glass. He got embarrassed and had to offer me one. That very moment my experience was already ruined. On my second trial, I came with a friend and a family brother. I ordered Achu and the others ordered Eru. Believe me, I did not eat. First, I had to literally call on the waitress a couple of times to come over and have the table cleaned after the former uses. she walked towards me very sluggishly and I could tell the words rumming through her mind was " can't you eat on it like that" In the end, again I did not eat but had to play along so as to see if the others could enjoy their meal. Unfortunately, they all complained. ADVISE Beginning with the owner of this place. Please learn to respect your employee because that is what walked me out of your place on my last visit. How belittling and mean you were towards your employee. Please employee and owner, business in the United States is not all about furnishing the place with good music and good furniture as the case may be, it's 80% customer service. You guys lack that big time. Remember... Others are doing same and the competition gets stiffer. For the employer, especially the servers, you have to understand you are being paid very low hourly wage because you accept tips. I am a good tipper, but won't tip for poor customer service, therefore, you can't make any money...
Read moreI don't even know where to begin! Maybe we came on a stressful day but they were so shortstaffed. The waitress/ cashier was doing basically everything, I think she was even helping to cook at the back as well. I ordered egusi and fufu while my mom ordered vegetable soup with fufu.
The fufu was wrapped so tight and it was burning hot, it was a serious struggle to unwrap it. The soup was drowned in red oil LITERALLY my mom drained the oil from her veg soup and it filled those medicine syrup cup the waitress gave us to put our fresh pepper in.
My egusi soup was also drenched in oil but my mom's soup was worse. The meat in my egusi soup was cold like they brought it out of the from freezer and tossed it in my plate, but it was not prepared in the soup. I told the waitress if I could warm it in the microwave and she said she would do it but I'm stressing her out. Like what? You're being paid, honey I'm not about to eat cold soup because you want your job easy for you.
And then when I gave the waitress a feedback on the whole experience and on the food, she was sly, defensive, and rude. She said the oily soup was how it was made in their country, now I'm west African and that's a damn lie. She said if more people complained then they will make necessary changes. I was just livid and just utterly annoyed, this restaurant was waste of money, time, and peace of mind. Honestly...
Read moreMy wonderful husband decided to take my daughter and I for dinner at this african restaurant for Mothers day .This was my first time to an African restaurant so I was very excited ,the food was good even tough it took almost an hour for us to get it served.Unfortunately the customer service was terrible. Our waitress was very rude and had a bad attitude when I asked her nicely to please heat up my daughter's soup cause it wasn't hot, she told me to feel the plate ,I told her I didn't need to feel the plate caused I tasted the soup and it wasn't hot enough, then I went up to her nicely to ask for some salt as she was walking ,I tapped her on her shoulder to get her attention she just ignored me and kept walking. she has no customers service skills which made it a bad experience for me.I Was very dissapointed because the food was very tasty. The owner really needs to have a tlk with his employees about giving better customer service to the clients .If it wasn't for my husband who tipped her even after spilling a beer on his pants by accident while cleaning up and didn't even offer him another one.she wouldn't have gotten a dime from me.I don't think I would be going there next time .I definitely will be trying another african restaurant, hopefully they will treat their customers...
