My experience at rumors salon in Brighton was unfortunately terrible. I have never colored my hair before due to a promise towards my best friend who passed away ten years ago. I decided to finally do something to break through and live life without feeling I couldnât change because of her absence. My long time boyfriend knew itâs been something Iâve been wanting to do and convinced me that Dani (rip) would not punish me for.. I went ahead and made an appointment with Rumors salon. I have been a little paranoid about bleaching my long dark brown hair because I know it does damage (I never mentioned that paranoia to the stylist before she promised me that the dark pine green dye I dreamed of will have no problem without bleach, she insisted the color will fall perfectly with my natural dark roots without bleach and also insisted to skip the bleach because my long hair is healthy... Again, I never had the conversation with her that I did not want to bleach my hair before she insisted that. Moving forward, she dyed my hair with some sort of lime green paint dye for an hour and half, washed my hair, (at this point, I couldnât really tell much of a difference) told me she couldnât blow dry my hair because of the pandemic protocols, but to wait for it to dry as I drive back home and I will then eventually notice it green! I get home, and it was still solid brown, except for my roots, it turned orange. I am embarrassed to go to work, I am embarrassed for trusting her and their business. I called to let them know, but they refused to give me a refund ($140 out of pocket) and only offered to let the same stylist to reply the lime green paint again. I of course refused. They did not seem sympathetic what so ever. If you go here, I advice you learn a bit about hair styling before going to them, because obviously they have no idea what the hell they are talking about. This was my first time trying to do anything to my hair after my bestfriendâs passing, and itâll certainly be the last due to stupidity like this. Thank you for opening my eyes rumors salon! I could never trust anyone to...
Read moreOriginally had an app for my mom w/ Kelly had to schedule w/ another stylist due to Kelly not being available. When I called back to confirm I wanted to schedule w/ someone else I specifically explained I wanted the same thing done as the last app which they should of had in there system. I was never told to wait in the car and call before entering due to COVID protocol. We walked in and the person at the desk said the stylist was w/ a client but I only seen 1 person getting there hair done and nobody else. We waited in the car till we got a call to come in and the same person that was in the salon was the only one that came out. So the stylist did not have a client. We waited for 30 mins, when she came back I asked if she was going to apply any other color to cover up the grays which was the whole point of getting color. She said thatâs not in the system, I tried to explain what she wanted the best way I could from what she got last time I said I told 2 different people what she wanted done over the phone whatever is in your system when scheduling the app. She replyâs with âWell what do you want me to do you could of said something 30 mins agoâ âWell this is cheaper anywaysâ I said âRight it is but itâs not the pointâ she came back after she said she was going to check the system so she knew exactly what we wanted because she came back with what was in the system as last time. Very rude and unprofessional. I told her to just finish what she did, we asked for a trim for her haircut and it seems like she cut off maybe 10 pieces of hair for $50 really? Weâve been here multiple times and today is the last we will be going here. Itâs very expensive to not get what you ask for, very unhappy with the results. I never give bad reviews but this was not okay, lack of communication and very unprofessional. My mom was still nice enough to tip even how upset she was. The...
Read moreHonestly so disappointed. Had Micheal do a âbalayageâ ... $300, 2 sessions and 4 hours later I am left with brassy orange hair that is only dyed in the middle.
I called back asked to speak with a manager or salon owner, was told Iâd be given a call back if I left my number and name... but was never given a call back. Had to call AGAIN. Finally got to speak with a manager. She offered to meet with me again and see what they could do.
She then set up an appointment for me to get it fixed with her senior stylist. Donât remember the senior stylists name but she did the best with what she was given. I left with my hair looking a better but still not what I paid $300 for.
Do your research before committing to a salon that is ultimately just going to take your money, and botch your hair.
(The first picture is what I asked for, the picture on the left was after 4 hours, the picture on the right is the âfixedâ result.)
Edit in response to the owners comments:
I do appreciate your willingness to fix it at no cost.. however it wasnât fixed.
I definitely did not leave your salon âhappyâ. I thanked your senior stylist for making it BETTER, but again it was not what I had initially gone into rumors for.
Though the attempt to fix my hair is appreciated, I would have rather gotten a refund instead of sitting through more sessions with your stylists, killing my hair while they âfixâ it.
PSA to anybody considering going to this salons... DONâT. They attempt to make it look like they remedied the situation on these reviews but actually donât.
Also Luxe salon in downtown Denver fixes bad balayageâs and their stylists are AMAZING. Spend your money where they actually know...
