I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Pollote , and it was an experience that left my taste buds dancing with delight. I was a bit unsure before entering this restaurant. I checked the menu beforehand to see if there were options for me since I don't eat red meat or pork. When I got to the counter, I asked if their green chili contained pork, and the cashier said no, which excited me because many Mexican restaurants don't have vegetarian green chili. I decided to order the chicken enchiladas meal, which came with three chicken and cheese enchiladas, rice and beans on the side, and a horchata.

Unfortunately, the chicken was dry and greasy, lacking flavor. The tortillas seemed undercooked and dry, while the beans were quite soupy and the rice was also dry. The saving grace of the meal was the cheese and green chili, which were the best parts. The horchata was also enjoyable.

To be honest, I don't think I'll return unless it's just for a cup of green chili and...

My review is based on me comparing this to California Mexican food so it’s a little biased you can say.

This reminded me of a mix between a el pollo loco & a taqueria. They only have chicken & no other options.

Food was good but was definitely “Americanized Mexican” food was tasty but noticed meat filling was very minimal. Barely any chicken in torta or burrito. We did come into restaurant approx 15 mins before closing so maybe they didn’t have enough prepped chicken? Not sure.

Id visit again if I lived in area but definitely wouldn’t drive out of my way...
