Ordered tempura soba noodle soup and while the tempura was okay, the soba noodles are a straight up lie. They are in NO WAY soba noodles. I brought this up with the waitress who, after a few minutes of confusion, eventually admitted they used lo mein (which is exactly what I thought the noodles tasted like), but then continued to be a bit confused. She explained in detail what udon noodles are so I wouldn't get confused when asked if I wanted the udon instead...but I wasn't confused, I knew I ordered soba and then was given lo mein noodles. Don't have it on the menu if you don't have soba noodles. I wasn't expecting Japan-quality but I know what they look/taste like, and to lie on the menu is very uncool.
They were clearly understaffed and the sushi was mediocre, also the cucumber salad is overloaded with vinegar. All that wouldn't warrant a review from me usually, but don't put soba on the menu if you...
Read moreI try to find pros and cons about each place I visit. So here goes- Pros- The chicken katsu was delicious. My neurodivergent daughter even liked it. The server was nice and brought the food promptly. Cons - the kitchen was slow even though we were one of only two tables in the entire restaurant. The miso soup was unsalted. I didn't know it was possible to have unsalted miso soup! The Kobe beef bowl must have been where the salt went because it was so salty I had to dilute it in my udon bowl. The chicken teriyaki was actually worse with the teriyaki sauce.
The atmosphere was fine until the sushi chef decided to blast music with very, very foul lyrics throughout the restaurant. The music would have appropriate for a 21 and over club but not in a family sushi restaurant.
Did not enjoy my stay and would not...

Overall, the food & experience was quite reasonable for the price.
I also don't understand the obsession of lumping together American-Chinese with Japanese & Thai cuisines [3].. I guess that's more of market/customers' fault 😅
[1] I imagine it's pretty hard to get high quality fish this far away from the ocean, so it's understandable. [2] Visited them at a very slow hour, we were the only customers at the moment. [3] Not a fusion, just offering separate popular...
