Bought a washer and after the 3rd load of laundry the washer stopped working and filled my whole house up with smoke. Smelled like plastic or rubber burning. Pretty sure it set on fire inside the machine. Home Depot was helpful at first but only for a short time. Had to pay for a washer again in order to get a new one delivered. Now I don't have a washer and have to wait over a month and a half for a new one. So now I'm having to go to a laundromat until my new washer comes in. When purchasing I seen a $50 Comed rebate sticker on the machine that I was told I can collect. After submitting the rebate I was told by Comed that this machine is not eligible for a rebate. I normally don't complain but I got tired of being taken advantage of. So I decided to call the Yorkville store and ask to speak to a store Manager. I was told she was out today. So I spoke to the assistant store manager. She should not have that role/title due to the lack of respect and customer service. I asked when the store Manager will be back and I was told after a while. A while meaning a day or a week? She stated that they don't know. So I asked about my rebate with Comed and was told sorry but we don't handle that. Figured for all my trouble I was going to ask for a discount on another item I wanted to buy from that store. After asking for the discount she told me that she can't take money off of a item for no reason. No reason? At this point I just gave up and now I'm going to BBB and after the store for damages to my house. Stay away from the Yorkville store. NO customer service coming from their...
Read moreThis purchase has been horrible!! I purchased a GE washer and dryer on 2/20/21 from the Yorkville Home Depot. Installation was scheduled for March 4, 2021. Delivery people came and refused to move the old appliances out. The new washer and dryer were left in my garage and new installation date was scheduled for a week later on 3/12/21. I used the dryer 3 times and noticed a gas smell from inside the dryer. I called Nicor, they came out, conducted an inspection and used a meter which indicated that in fact there was a gas leak. Dryer was uninstalled and Nicor representative wrote up a Warning tag due to internal gas leak in dryer and unit is not able to be used. Went to the Home Depot store and they did nothing. Called GE, the best I got from them was a repair date of 3/22/21. GE repair person came to day and verified there is an internal gas leak. He did not have the part so another date was scheduled for the repair...again another week out. So far I have used the dryer 3 times in a 7 hour time period and will have taken 4 days off of work. This is ridiculous!!! Neither Home Depot nor GE have this situation handled. I wouldn't be so upset if the problem was so serious! Store manager said I could return the washer & dryer and be charged 15%. None of this is fault of my own. I would have though Home Depot had much better customer service. I will certainly be telling everyone about my experience and suggesting for them to purchase else where...
Read moreI’d give it zero stars if I can. I ordered a special order door for my house. I spent over $4000 on it. When it arrived at my house, my son and my wife needed to help the delivery guy take it off the truck and place it in my garage until my installer can install it. When my installer and I unwrapped it to install it after taking my old door out, we noticed a dent on the door itself and not on the sidelights or the transit on top. I contacted Home Depot right away and let them know. I didn’t hear back from them for a month and only after reaching back out again is when they told me they had to contact the manufacturer. It’s been three months and I decided to contact Home Depot again to see what was going on. They told me it was going to be an other $809 to replace the door. I wrote back just now but I’m extremely unhappy with this Home Depot and the customer service. On top of that the door had visible gaps leading to outside. My contractor had to use special caulk to fill the areas where the transit and sides met the door frame itself.
Update: now they want to charge $1000 for a replacement door and then credit back $350. I complained enough he offered $400 off the door. I spent over $4000 on a door that came dented and they want to charge me more. I will never go to Any Home Depot again. Menards and Lowe’s are my places to go. Menards has better quality stuff anyways and lumber that’s not warped.
I’m not fixing my door...
