This place is actually amazing! From the selection of items and especially the customer service. The best interaction I had with the staff easily goes to a young lady that works there. (She did tell me her name however I definitely forgot but will update this post later) I didn’t pawn anything but will post another review after I have a pawn experience. BTW this is the only pawn shop I have ever left a good review about to date.

So the young lady that helped me that day and again in September name is Vanessa!!! Now let me tell you about what happened in September.

I went in with my best friend and partner at the time to purchase a Nintendo Switch that my best friend want to get me as a gift 🥹. When we arrived it was explained to us that they only had the original system at this location but she bent over backwards to find the OLED version that I wanted. She found it at another location and I quickly jumped on it as they were willing to help coordinate a scheme I cooked up to get it the same day instead of waiting a couple of days.

I suggested that I buy the switch and instead of waiting I would take an Uber to go get it when I thought about Uber’s connect service (which allows packages to be picked up and brought to you). They not only had she called the other location to make sure that it was understood what was actually happening but also kept in touch through the entire process when once I paid for it the switch. That really helped me as most people have a support animal to help with their mental stability whereas I consider my switch to be my support console. Will definitely be going back for all my pawn shop needs lol.

All jokes aside I’d really suggest checking them out and even if Vanessa is busy I’d wait if you’re able as she is beyond excellent at making sure customers get what they came in for which is priceless and worth any extra travel you may take for the experience. Also if you feel like you’re being taken advantage of or disagree with something please say something as she and the person I believe to be the owner will patently explain their practices in plain English so you’re making an informed decision versus having unnecessary...

I wish I could leave -5 stars. When 88 Pawn was owned by Ron the shop was AMAZING. Incredible customer service and overall general care for other people as a local business owner. I could not say enough positive things about the previous owner and company. Once Sterling & Knight took over the whole store has been horrible. I highly recommend going to any other local shop in the area and avoiding this store.

After the ownership transferred this store began using SMS marketing to reach out to all of the previous contacts that had worked with Ron. I did not opt-in to receive text marketing from this company. They encouraged that customers stop back in and give them a try. My first experience with the store was horrible!!! Very challenging people to work with and absolutely will not negotiate. This includes small loans of $100. Overall poor service. I shared my frustrations with the shop owner and he apologized profusely. A few months later I thought I would try the shop again. The second time around I received the same service only worse! The so called "manager, but not manager" mauriceo low balls offers claiming that he cannot re-sell items and that everyone abandons their items left at the store. When asked for $20 more than the initial offer mauriceo rudely negotiated over the $20 and said he finally would come up by $10. Thanks, but no thanks! I would rather go down the street to a store that cares about...

Relatively reasonable. Worked with Nancy today to sell a 9.1gm 14 karat gold band; she was professional and cordial. I should have done my research beforehand, but I've done it after the fact. According to goldcalc dot com, the melt value of this piece as of 8 May 2023 is $345.38. The same source states that due to overhead costs, "A range between 70% to 85% of melt value is a reasonable expectation from [a local jeweler or pawn shop]." 70% of $345.38 is $241.77; initial offer from this shop was $190. Unfortunately due to my being ill-informed, I was only able to negotiate to $210, which is still well shy of the low end of the "reasonable" estimate from the aforementioned source. In any case, overall a pleasant experience, I understand the business is there to make money, and I've no way of knowing if my source is 100% accurate.
