Oh Aldi...how you "woo'ed" me. I was not a fan of Aldi my first visit years and years ago, despite people expressing their fondness of the store to me. Well, when I moved a little over a year ago, I moved near an Aldi. It happens to be the most convenient Grocery store to me, so I started going. It didn't take long for me to see why so many people love it. It has an excellent rotating selection of groceries and odds and ends. Its prices for its "stocked" items are always the best or close enough to the best around. The quality of its generic items are far above that of your average grocery store. I don't ever do a full grocery trip here...you really can't because it does have a limited selection. But I get fruit, breads, milk, awesome (and sometimes odd) frozen items, and the occasional treadmill here. Checkout is lightning fast. Store is clean. Check it out, but don't get frustrated at the quarter deposit for a cart...I did my first visit and it left a bad attitude. I don't use carts anyway...just take a couple bags...
Read moreI re.visited this ALDIi store yesterday.I always plan to use the restroom and go to Sam*s club and Walmart. I buy things for the pricesas and my appreciation for the restroom use. I had my shopping cart with me and left up front in front of a two way mirror as I was instructed by a tall thin white man.I stated yes I planned to shopand He shook his head no , laughed but never introduced himself. This man followed me throughout the store. Then spotted me and walked down one aisle in such a hurry. He nearly knocked me down..I accendentally dropped the item I was pricing. Picked it up my self and said excuse me to him. This made him laugh. He never offered to help or said excuse me. I kept my hands and items visible to everyone The food was fresh. The prices were good on find itemsout there some where shopping. I purchased items and left the store. I was profiled as a shoplifter and felt humiliated.I don't plan on going back to that store for awhile. Even though it is close to the bus stop and has a...
Read moreALDI is essentially Trader Joe's for the working class. It's almost all store brands and the quality of the products is excellent, especially considering the price. Lots of gourmet fare including cheeses, German beer and wine, couscous, European pastries, and other fussy stuff along side grocery staples. Pork is exceptional, way better than that dry garbage Giant Eagle sells for twice as much. Lots of seasonal fruits and treats like pomegranate frozen fruit bars in the summer, and pfefernuss around Christmas. Don't even try to compare this place to Save-A-Lot, ALDI demolishes them in every possible way. And this store is always clean and well-stocked,. If you've never tried it before, you owe it to yourself to go in. It does get busy sometimes, and you need to bring your own bags or pay for them. Bring a quarter for your cart, you'll get it back when you return the cart. But this means that they don't have to go chasing carts around the lot and they pass the...
