Just an FYI. Long post alert. I love nice things. I love them even more on a budget! Nordstrom Rack has been one of my favorite spots to shop for years. I shop there often and I keep most of my items as I take my time shopping. Itâs a part of my solitude to be honest. Lol. Iâve had two incidents where I returned items that were questionable in the eyes of the sales clerk/management. Once there was a pair of jeans that had a stain on the bottom leg. The manager who was taking care of me for the return was the same lady that had rang the original sale. She tried to affirm that she would had never sold me the pants in the condition. I affirmed that I wouldnât be returning them in that condition had I caused the issue. Over a year later I purchased multiple items right before my vacation and that including a last minute grab on a pair of clearance jeans. I discovered that they were not needed and attempted to return them. They had never left the bag and I had my receipt which was within the stores store guidelines. Upon the return it was discovered that the jeans had a tag in them that was safely pinned and that the tag didnât match the merchandise. There was also two other sticker tags on the jeans. I had not inspected the jeans (I never have) and neither did the sales rep. She hastily rang my merchandise as they (and most stores) do. No inspection of the items were done and thatâs the way it normally goes. The items are swiftly rang, folded and placed in the bag. My return was refused because of these discrepancies. I understand that but I still feel that I was wrongly assumed to be the person that created the obvious diversion. All I did as a customer was purchase a pair of jeans as is. I made no changes to the merchandise and I feel that my return should have been honored. Someone obviously got over on the company but that person was not me. As a loyal customer I believe the company would be responsible for that loss. While I was still at the register another woman came in with a return. She immediately went into why her very expensive dress didnât have any tags she wanted to return it. As she explained herself away about how she promises you didnât wear it her return was accepted without concern. Really! That was an obvious hypocrisy. I reached out to the district manager who had obviously been privy to my issue and had already made up his mind that my point was invalid. In speaking to Mr. Nordstrom he took the same stance. I was treated rudely by both actually.
The dollar amount of the product was not great but itâs the principle at this point. I donât feel there was any equality in this decision. I am one person and Iâm sure me deciding not to shop there is worthless and only hurts me who actually loves my finds at that store. My reason for sharing this is to appeal to you to thoroughly check your tags. Make the cashier check what you think youâre buying against whatâs on the tag. Sure itâll slow up the line but so what! They wonât care about you getting swindled for a pair of $30 clearance jeans that you had no idea was incorrectly tagged!
On another note: The lady who rang me on the original sale was there that day. She was asked were the jeans like I presented them when she rang them. Of course she answered no. How the heck do you remember my specific sale from 2 weeks ago. Bogus! She said she wouldnât have sold them tagged like that because she wants her job. I replied so either youâre perfect or Iâm a liar and rigged the jeans I wanted to return. If you compare my shopping history it should be obvious that Iâm not a controversial or crooked customer.
I later found out that they did check the history of sales in that Jean and it was found that they were a previous return. Soooooo. In my mind another customer did this and one of your sales reps accepted them. Hmmmm. What happened to our perfect team of cashiers that love and want their jobs and donât sale faulty merchandise....

It was the only one of its kind but didn't have a price tag on it. I took it up to the register to see if someone could look up the price for me and I was told to step aside till they did so. I waited a long time for the price and had to leave as I was in that area on business. Needless to say I left without the jacket. I looked up the jacket at Nordstroms.com and it never came up. I called the store back and spoke to someone there and had told them what happened. The girl rudely replied she was the one that was getting the price and that it didn't take that long. Well I tell you it did as several customers went ahead of me and left. I asked her if she could see if the jacket is there and how much it is, she said if it's there she can only hold it for an hour. I live two hours away, and since they're the ones that didn't have a price on it I was hoping I could charge it with my Nordstroms card and have it shipped. I was told I can't. I asked for a manager, his name was Tom. He answered the phone with an attitude!! He didn't seem the least bit interested in helping me with this situation which was caused by not having a ticket on the item. I really wanted this jacket but do not care to do business in that store again! You'd think the two clerks were more interested in not helping me than trying to make a sale!! Very poor...
I seriously had the worst experience with this store today. I wanted to get a decent pair of sun glasses. I had a woman helping me there since you need a key to get into the cases. There was only one pair that looked decent and of course that ONE didn't have a price tag. They looked it up and said $178 I'm like whatttt every pair of Ray Bans in this huge case is less then $100...i had to leave bc I had to get back to work. I called the store back and asked the lady to give me the # on the glasses since online they were also ALL less then $100. She put me on hold for 20 mins and never came back. Called back asked for the manager he gave me the upc #. Called CS was on the phone with them for another hour. They finally got on the phone and said it was a return from Nordstrom and never should have been at Nordstrom rack. Instead of giving me the discount for THEIR mistake its pretty much like ohhhh well.... that's just terrible terrible cs and about 2 hours of...
