My Family and I made reservations to dine in for dinner 3/07/23 at Bahama Breeze in Newark, De. Our waitress name was Emma A. The dinner went well until Ms Emma A. checked my Visa card out for the bill and she accidentally charged my visa card a gratuity of $74.69 in error. My total bill for my family of five was $68.40, over charging my visa for a total $149.09 in error. She apologized for her mistake and said she would have her manager, Mr. Jay E correct the overcharge of $74.69 that she placed on my card in error. We waited over 30 minutes for her manager to correct their error and had to ask what was taking so long?? Ms Emma A. then returned to our table and I brought the charge up in my bank app and showed her where she changed me a total of $143.09 in error, when the correct bill was only$68.40, she laughed and said I know like it was a joke. This was not a laughing matter! I asked her for the credit slip showing me where her manager credited back my visa for the incorrect amount of $143.09, she said he didn’t have a credit slip to give me and it should credit back my account next day, but he couldn’t give me a credit slip! and then he charged my account for another $58.46, he took 10.00 off the initial bill for her making the error. I never heard of a big chain restaurant not being able to correct their error and provide their patrons a credit due slip! Made no sense to me! They didn’t take responsibility of properly correcting their error. I then asked to speak to the manager. Mr Jay E came out and he took no accountability he told me Ms Emma A said I made the error , she blatantly lied to her manager as she was the one who took my card and ran the transaction, she had 5 inch fingernails which caused her to put the $74.69 gratuity on my Visa card in error!! Mr Jay E told me there was nothing he could do for me even though it was his waitresses error! He told me I had to call the General manager , Mr Mike L. Back the next day if my money didn’t get credited back to my account!! Wow No accountability again for making the error! He Had a I don’t care about you attitude and was very rude! I was having a conversation trying to understand how this issue would be corrected.. especially since he could not produce the credit slip he said he placed back on my Visa card.I asked him to please give me something in writing and he sign and date it since he could not produce a credit slip showing they refunded my money back to my account. He told me he couldn’t do that. I found that very suspicious. He then became very nasty and irritated because I was asking for some type of proof for the credit. He was Very unprofessional and handled the situation poorly! His attitude was disrespectful and then walked away from me and told me he was going to call the Police!!!! Really Why?? I was not making any scene or raising my voice, I paid my bill! because you’re waitress made a huge mistake and overcharged my Visa card!! That is Stealing from your customer! Then you disrespected me and my family by trying to belittle us because we were rightfully trying to resolve your establishment error! Saying you are going to call the Police???I don’t owe you any money! I paid my bill in full , plus another $74,69 you over charged my card in error! You! It was about 4pm and we were celebrating a small business opening for one of the girls and she chose this place to get drinks. We go into the host station and greeted by a younger kid who was looking for a booth for us to sit. The manager on duty, I do not know his name nor did I ask, was an older bald African American man and wore glasses was standing there as well with his back to the door reorganizing the menus and inserts. The young man was told by him to seat us in the bar area as opposed to where he was going to seat us. We followed and declined the booth in the bar because there was 4 of us and it was pretty tight. So we went back to host desk and the young man informed the Mgr that we would prefer another seating arrangement.
Welllll excussseee me, this man turns around in a frustrated stern voice while we are standing there and other diners waiting and tells this young man that basically oh well there is nothing at this time because he only has 2 servers and he has a party of 22 coming in and they will just have to wait! WHAAATTTTTT!!!! I was stuck for a second and couldn't believe this Mgr really showed out like that and I looked at the girls and said oh no not today satan he don't want our patronage. His demeanor was extremely unprofessional we aren't waiting just cause of his energy we will go somewhere else there is plenty to choose from. Read moreBeen at this location multiple times loving the attention and the food, however, today we visited the store located in Christiana Mall Delaware and upon arrival around 3:35 pm, and after driving 2 hours to enjoy the food. I was indicated they were short staff and I needed to wait 15 minutes. Shortly after the manager started to work the front desk and got us seated. After ordering the same food we always get at this location the skirt steak churrasco, it was overcooked after requesting it medium, also had no seasoning at all, only the chimichurri on top without any taste, and the white rice was a nasty steaky ball of rice. My son's burger was also overcooked after requesting it medium and the applewood bacon was missing. After they replaced my wife's churrasco with another burger, she asked for the burger with American cheese but they used cheddar instead. The kitchen picked our plates to screw them up. After the second plate screwed up the server apologized and told us it was possible the kitchen personnel was busy and mess things up on our plates, only to find out the server also contributed to some of their mess by not writing the order correctly as far as the cheese selection goes. I spoke to a supervisor and she also indicated they were having some issues with the kitchen and were going to notify the kitchen manager.
