Donna's art is incredible. I first saw one of her drawings as I was scrolling through the posts of a Standard Poodle group online. I thought the drawing of this standard poodle that I saw was a photograph! I stopped to look at it carefully and realized, oh my goodness, this is a drawing! And it was even better than a photograph. Each strand of hair on the poodle was by itself dramatic . . . and all the individual dramatic renderings -- eyes, nose, ears . . . made an unbelievable piece of art and their personality came through in the drawing. I realized then that having Donna draw our two poodles, Bilbo and Zuzu, would be a fantastic birthday gift for my wife. I was hoping I would be able to get on Donna's waiting list (I figured she must have one given how good she is) in time for my wife's birthday. I contacted Donna and I was early enough that getting on her waiting list at that point would assure me of getting my wife's birthday gift in time. Then the process began, even before she started drawing our poodles. Lots of communication and decisions to make . . . type of pose, full body, profile, looking at us, looking elsewhere, etc. Throughout the process, Donna was more than warm and friendly. She was loving in her interactions concerning our poodles. And she helped with each step of the process. And over the next few months, she genuinely came to love our poodles. And it definitely shows in her artwork . . . not only the technical perfection of the art, but the love that is evident in her art . . . and Bilbo's and Zuzu's souls, their characters and personalities . . . and their happiness . . . show through the drawings. Bilbo's and Zuzu's individual portraits were magnificent. I've given my wife birthday gifts now for over 45 years, and she said this was the best gift she's ever gotten!! I agree. I was so happy to give her these two portraits and they look so wonderful hanging in our home. Donna helped us make all the decisions regarding framing, but left us to actually make the decisions. She arranged for everything so they arrived at our home ready to hang. What an absolute delight this was . . . the entire process as well as the result. And my wife and I gained a new friend. As did our poodles, Bilbo and Zuzu. Thank you, Donna, for making for us a real treasure, and for becoming our friend. And what makes your art so special is your drawings...
Read moreMy boyfriend commissioned Donna to do a portrait of our 2 Standard Poodles for me . It was a surprise and when I opened it he told me about the experience he had working with Donna via text and phone call. The portrait was so incredible I had to call Donna to talk with her about how much I loved it and what a talented artist she is. As we chatted we came up with a plan to surprise my man with a book that chronicled the entire process of making the portrait - text messages, drawings in progress, etc. It turned out to be yet another work of art! Donna is so wonderful to work with. She truly loves her subjects and that love shines through. I whole heartedly recommend her - she does human...
Read moreDonna delivered a beautiful pencil portrait of my two dogs. She took a lot of time to get to know them through photos we sent her. The photos required a lot of detail for Donna, as she seeks to capture the spirit and grace of each animal, down to the detail of the way their fur is arranged and collar details. Donna communicates very often through the process by email with details on photo needs and the progress of the drawing from beginning rough in to final product. We are very pleased with the final drawing and are glad we...
