Last week, I had a botched color job done by Stefani and she knowingly charged me for a service I didn’t receive. To start, she bleached my entire head when my “end goal” photo showed dark roots throughout and lightened ends. I also verbally told her that I did not want to be solid blonde. She told me “it’ll be easier to lighten your whole head now and then add lowlights next time.” I should have taken this as a red flag and asked her to weave in the highlights, but she is the professional and I trusted her. That being said, I am not professional, but my hair’s starting point was at a pretty good spot for the look I was going for. After the color, I had to leave wet due to timing, so I didn’t see the true color of my hair until I got home and dried it myself. It was every shade of “blonde” you could think of - gold, orange, yellow, and even silvery gray in some spots. Not only was the color completely inconsistent, but she colored my hair in a way that would force me to pay more because more product was being used than what was needed. I was also charged for a haircut that I never received. She spent 5 minutes taking some dead length off my ends when it was dry and then never cut it wet. She never asked if I wanted layers, face framing, etc. I actually paid and left the salon and then was called back in because they forgot to charge me for my haircut. I told the receptionist that she didn’t cut my hair, and then Stefani came out and told me I was wrong and that she did indeed cut it, when their website states that a haircut includes cut, blow dry, and style. The next day I went elsewhere to get it fixed because I truly didn’t trust her after the approach she took and the fact that she over changed me knowing she didn’t do the job she said she did. I paid $438 (includes my 20% tip because I believe in compensating service professionals properly, however, this would have been much different if she dried my hair) and was refunded half of what I paid. I didn’t receive the full refund because I went somewhere else to get it fixed. It’s a shame because this was my second time seeing Stefani and she did such great work the first time. My “end goal” photo and my before and after photos are attached. The natural outdoor light is definitely not doing the awful color justice, so that says a lot. Even if it didn’t look as bad as it did, I specifically said I didn’t want my entire head bleached. Because of her negligence, my hair is now incredibly dry and I had to have even more cut off when I got it fixed the next day. To some I’m sure I sound dramatic, but anyone who gets their hair done will hopefully know where I’m coming from. I have searched for a salon that put me at ease and listened to my experience for years. I found what I was looking for at Ebrace Salon. Emma has been nothing but a blessing in my hair journey. We started with a correction...5 hours of time, the right eyes and the skills needed to repair the damage that had been done approximately 3 or 4 months earlier. Putting it lightly...I was left at a different salon with a line of red circling my "want to be blond" hair. It was awful! Emma and the team not only invited me in without judgement but were also incredibly understanding of the position I was in and were ready to get down and help! The results have far surpassed what I thought was even possible. The red halo is virtually gone and the level and dimension of blonde my hair is at now is nothing short of a miracle. To say that I love Embrace is an understatement. TJ and the team has created a really positive spa with stylists that love their environment, constantly educate themselves, and bring the best to their clients. I am treated very well every time I walk through the door. The addage "you get what you pay for" really applies. This isn't Best Cuts - it's an investment in your health regardless of whether that's hair, massage, or other form of pampering. I love going back time and again to Embrace because they know who I am, what I like, and the massage therapist really pays attention to what's going on in my life and how to help alleviate stress. TJ is to be commended for working so very hard with his team to create, maintain and move forward to the betterment of his salon. The place is always clean; the stylists are encouraged to always educate themselves if there's downtime, and individual personalities shine with certain specialites.
