First Visit to Ken Fovargue Park: A Hidden Gem in Bullhead City
I recently visited Ken Fovargue Park for the first time, and to my delight, I was simply amazed by this beautiful community park. It's that time of year when starting out early in the morning is a must. I arrived around 8:50 a.m. and was greeted by a lively scene. Seniors were enjoying a workout in the pool, grandmothers were walking with their grandkids, and the maintenance crew was busy grooming the grass. The lifeguard on duty informed me that the next class would see 60 more seniors benefitting from the pool. The park, surrounded by majestic mountains, offers a heavenly scenic view that adds to its charm.
Ken Fovargue Park is well-equipped with two regulation ball fields, a basketball court, horseshoe pits, playground equipment, a snack bar, a swimming pool and a splash park. The park is open to the public 7 days a week from 4 am until 11 pm. The park is also beautifully lit at night, making it a perfect spot for evening visits. One of the highlights is the spectacular 3,000-square-foot Kiwanis Splash Park. Built in 2014, this splash park is a testament to the vision and hard work of the Kiwanis Club of Bullhead City Morning Community Foundation, with generous financial support from BHHS Legacy Foundation, the Kiwanis Club of the Colorado River Bullhead City, the City of Bullhead City, and other local donors.
This park is truly a model to be admired. The surrounding homes reflect the community's pride and love for this park. If you're traveling to Bullhead City, a visit to Ken Fovargue Park is a must, and the best part? It's free! With the upcoming summer heat, it's the perfect place to cool off. Bring your family and enjoy everything this park has to offer. Don't forget to take pictures—after all, they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Come and create your own memorable moments at Ken...
Read moreToday, I took the kids for a fun park day. My 6 year old niece had to use the bathroom. She went in and locked the door behind her. After she did her business, she was unable to unlock the door and was stuck in there for about an hour. After trying to find the ranger without avail. I called 911. They sent the fire department over to get her out. After several attempt, the ranger was contacted and had the key to open the door.To note, there were many people attempting to help keep her stay calm through the metal bolted door. It must also be noted that there were many complaints made to me about the door being this way for awhile. This includes both locals and the ranger herself. The door was locked after this occurrence, per the request of the fire department. It seems to me, that this issue should have been addressed prior to this incident since it is indeed a children's play area. My niece who was locked in the bathroom and her brothers outside the door were extremely scared and traumatized by this event. With that, I'm so grateful to the locals and the fire department for their due diligence. But, BHC, this should not be an issue. This was absolutely horrifying and uncalled for to these...
Read moreDoes anybody actually know when the splash pad hours are. When it's on? Because I've come on serval occasions, different times throughout the days and I've seen it on with people playing in it but Everytime I go to take my baby (I think he would absolutely love it) Everytime i go to take him it isn't on and stepping on the red(not really red anymore) dots didn't do a thing. That day we should ip at 11:30 and stayed until 1:30. There was other people there waiting for the water as well, not sure if they ever got it as I said we left around 1:30 just seems silly to sit half the day waiting for water at...
