"SCAM ALERT" "READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO TO RON'S" When I would go in I would see Joe and he always did me right, but John is the polar opposite and this review is supposed to represent the business overall, sadly due to two recent events I had to remove my 5 star rating. We will start with John charging me $350 for an oil change and tune up, a week later I was suspicious because it ran no different, I went to a local shop who showed me that the old wires and plugs were still in the vehicle, and while the oil looked good, the filter did not, so I paid $350 for someone to drain the oil and refill it. My brother, not knowing what I now knew went to Rons for a simple tire balance, they finished and told him, "NO CHARGE", awesome, right? so he backed out and immediately heard a clunking noise he had never heard before, it was coming from the front end and you could feel it on the steering wheel, he pulled right back in, they put it on the lift and told him he needed an axle and ball joints, a $1,400 repair, but how could this be? it made no noises when he brought it there, but they insisted that removing and remounting the tires caused the issue because the parts were bad. He brought it home, two doors down from the shop and parked it, he told me what happened and we looked underneath, keep in mind they had it on a lift with a much better view than we had, we were laying on the ground and my brother saw the issue immediately, the used the wrong weights and they were hitting on the strut when the tire rotated, a problem they caused that was so obvious they had to have seen it when the truck was on the lift. He went back the following morning and as they shook their heads, they changed to the proper weights that didn't hit the strut and the truck is perfect now without a $1,400 repair, I wonder how many times they used to trick to rip people off? I lost all trust for the shop now and will...
Read moreI had a fan disconnect and shoot into the radiator of my 99 dodge dakota. They over charged for the two parts being replaced and to top it off added a tensioner assembly to the bill as well. After Ron's said this was fixed and everything was good I attempted to drive the truck home. the truck proceeded to leak transmission fluid from the front of my 99 Dodge dakota and the tensioner assembly was still jerking. After having the vehicle looked at by a more trust worthy person I found that they had only hand tightened the pressure fittings of my transmission cooler... HAND TIGHTENED! then left it that way, to top it off the reason my fan initally shot off was because the water pump was bad! there was no mention of this part needing to be replaced at all. This shop could have been honest and still made that extra dollar off of me because the pump needs to be replaced; instead this shop chose to be deceitful and lazy in their field and have lost the business of myself and anyone who will listen to me on why NOT to go to...
