Sushi Maki — Restaurant in Burien

Food is great!! Lots of interesting options and prepared well. I have eaten here only twice, by takeout. I agree with other reviewers that they take forever but it was worth waiting for and I would just plan for it next time. Perhaps they have been swamped with take out orders due to the shut down? My concerns: I also have experienced the rudeness others were complaining about. It was pretty strong. and actually both times it was the same lady, I never got treated badly by anyone else there. since I’ve only gotten take out it was not too much to sway me from ordering the second time. I can’t say I would enjoy eating in if that’s how it always is and will probably avoid it. What HAS swayed me from ordering here again is that both times I was here none of the employees were wearing masks or gloves. :( This was before masks were made mandatory in public (although I’m certain that it was mandatory for restaurant workers to wear them before that). Decided to have sushi for dinner and stumbled across this place. The store was boarded up completely, turns out someone drove through their store and robbed them. Nonetheless I proceeded to head inside and was happy to see an excellent health rating by king county. As I sat down I was greeted by a very sweet waitress I orded everything she recommended and I have to say it everything was good! The first roll in my picture seemed like the sushi melted in my mouth, but had a crunch from the fried shrimp and cucumber. It was pretty spicy didn't help that I added heaps of wassabi. The second roll was the best it was a blast of flavors one of the best rolls I've ever had. By the time I got to the third roll I was already full! But had to finish and the third roll was just fine. I as craving something fresh, healthy and filling. After driving by this place a couple times a week since the day they opened I decided to give it a try. I don’t know what kept me from going all these years! I got just what I was craving as well as extremely fast and very friendly service! They definitely do not skimp on any of the ingredients! The Spicey California roll was amazing! The Albany roll was ok. For me, the flavor of the smoked salmon overpowered everything else. But, others may love it. I wish I could leave 4 3/4 stars instead of taking off a whole one. But that wasn’t an option. But, the deduction was because the rolls were rolled pretty loose....so each piece instantly fell apart when picked up. I ended up having to ditch the chopsticks and resorted to a fork. Certainly not the end of the world. But, not the intended experience when eating...
