In 2014 after taking my Rolex to "allegedly" the best jewelry store in Burlingame for service, I received my watch back service 6 weeks later with a different band. I spoke to the owner at the time and he denied the band had been switch. I asked if the repairs took place locally or in house. He then shared that they sent the watch to LA for the service and continued to deny the band had been switched. I was never told the watch was being shipped to LA for service at the time I took it in for service. I was left with nothing to do but pay for my watch and leave. After wearing the watch for 2 months it stopped running again. I have had this watch since 1980 and never once did it ever stop. In actuality this was the first service I did on the watch after wearing it for 34 years. It ran like a clock as they say. I was so annoyed and frustrated that I put it in my jewelry box and there it stayed until November of this year. My daughter asked me this year where my Rolex was and since I no longer wore it might it be something I would give to her. I told her it needed service and maybe a repair so I did not know when it would be available for her. Enter Humberto & Jewels of Monaco. I went speak to Humberto after seeing that he specialized in Rolex watches. I told him my story and he said he would fix my watch but he did not want me to leave it with him until I had done due diligence on him and his shop. He suggested I check reviews online and ask around about his work. Very honest of him and I immediately knew he was a trustworthy jeweler. I did ask around and found several people who had frequented this store. I went back with my watch. Not only did fix my watch but he sold me a Rolex band for a very fair price to replace the band that was put on my watch in LA. He did the service, replace the band and replaced the face all in a couple of weeks so I could give the watch to my daughter as a Christmas gift! Such an amazing experience over multiple purchases. For each of my daughters I wanted to buy them something special for their 18th birthday. Working with Humberto was fantastic. I got to know him as a person, and he expressed such interest in finding something each of my daughters would love (and they did!). Humberto was patient, gave me great advice throughout the process, kept searching and working with me until we found something perfect--and throughout never once did I feel any pressure. Leading up to meeting Bert, I told him what I was looking for and based on that he was able to create exactly what I had in mind.
