A company with a heart and soul.. In late November my mother who is a Vermonter and a fan and promoter of your products was diagnosed with cancer and began chemo treatments at UVM medical. Through her treatments she has bought with her a blanket from The Vermont Flannel Co and has commented throughout that āthis is the only comfortable thing in my world right nowā . Last week while she was having a procedure done and was out of her room the blanket was lost, the hospital could not locate it and were not sure if it was just lost in the laundry but were apologetic it could not be located. I have traveled from Arizona to be with my mother and being away from home and my own children through the Hollidays had created a financial and mental hardship hard to explain but I did simply not have the money to replace my mothers loved blanket. I emailed to relay this story and to see if there was maybe a discount or something they could offer to help have this replaced. I was so grateful and amazed when a response came from Emily that there was no discount ā¦. No discount because the company wanted to provide my mother a new blanket at no cost and arranged one to be picked up in Burlington.. this truly made me break down and in fact I am in tears writing this now.. Except, that is, with Vermont Flannel. Placed an order, and within ten seconds, realized it was to the wrong address. Sent an email no more than 3 minutes after placing the order, asking to change the address or to cancel the order so I could place it again correctly. No response, except for hours later when I got a shipping notification. But, it said that UPS didnāt have the package yet, so I called customer service. The woman on the phone was horribly rude, spending most of the time lecturing me about how customers yell at her if they take too long to ship (I wasnāt yelling?) and said theyād email if they could do anything. Tried to even call the store she said it was shipping from. Nothing.

When I bought them I asked for a size recommendation since I didn't have time to try them on. The employee did not offer me a receipt or tell me I would need one to exchange the item if they did not fit. When I went to exchange them for a larger size today, I was told I must have a copy of my receipt. I showed him the bank statement as proof of purchase but he would not accept it. I work at a store locally with a similar return policy, but we would never deny someone an exchange because they don't have their receipt. The employee was rude and offered no alternatives or sympathy. I have also noticed diminishing quality in their clothes despite the ever rising price tag.
